great write up chad. i have been looking at the meetings between these two teams in the sec championship matchup and this is what im seeing

maybe tebow and company with their powerful offense  will do what no other florida team did before them and blow bama out.  i am leaning more to the same type of game florida had with ole miss than a blowout.  i see the big boys in bama slowing this game down and grinding it out.

i have my own insights on this game... the #1 team getting 10 points on a neutral field is ridiculous..and that harvin is "questionable" it seems like bama is the lock

 

but in big games i want the guy with the best player on the team

 

if anyone wants to argue if tebow is not the best player in this game id love to hear it

 

cody might be a beast...(but between the twins  blocking him, and all the speed minus harvin) how is the florida offense gonna be stopped

I have to take issue with those who say Florida has had a tougher schedule than Bama, and I could carless what some computer says.  First of all Florida & Bama have played 6 common opponents, so their overall schedule is very similar except in one very important respect.  All of Bama's most difficult games have been on the road.  College football ball is not a game play in a test-tube in a vacuum.  Rather it is largely a game of emotion and motivation.

 

Almost every road game Bama faced this year was against a team where Bama was their game of the year.  In LSU's case, Bama was their game of the century.  Meanwhile Florida played Tennessee, Arky and Vandy on the road.  IMHO there is no comparison.  Bama scheduled has been far more difficult than Florida's, and it's not even close!!!  Moreover, Bama is the bigger, stronger, tougher and the more battled-hardened team, while Florida enjoys a decisive advantage in speed and playmakers.

 

Florida very well may win this game, but they'll be in the fight of their life, and I certainly don't think they'll cover the spread.  For the first time this year they'll face a true NFL style 3-4 defense - one that is coached by the greatest defensive mind in college football - Nick Saban.  If you think for a second that Florida will run up and down the field on that defense, I think you're badly mistaken.

 

Calling the winner of this game is about a 50/50 proposition.  Calling Bama +10 is no-brainer IMHO.

 

 

FREAK OUT!!!

Everyone talking about Floridas team speed...and talking as though Bama is a bunch of slow fat fucks....Undoubtably you all havent been watching the games that I have this year....Bama has alot of speed, especially on defense. Seasoned defensive secondary who covers well, and plays very physical, and has accumulated several interceptions....Bama has a strong defensive front, with a very active group of young linebackers who pursue the ball very well...If they  remain disciplined, and stay at home to contain the outside forcing evrything inside against Floridas misdirection style offense, then that will stop the big plays that Florida has been blessed with all year.  Bamas offense is a ball control, wear you down, smashmouth, run, run, run...and then BAM! they hit you with a big play down field...JP Wilson isnt the most talented QB,with the most impressive individual stats, but he doesnt have to be...he has been pretty solid on leading this Bama team to an undefeated season by  managing the game, and not making mistakes...Its true that Florida has won all of their games more desisively, and that Bama has struggled to win some of theirs.....Like Freak said in a few posts earlier...Bama has played in alot of dogfights this year, against teams who with a win against Bama would have made their season....Bama is battle tested, coming out on top...Florida lost the only dogfight they were in....And anyone who thinks this wont be another tight game is sadly nistaken, so how does Florida react when not playing the game with a big lead, not being able to just pad their numbers, but having to fight for every yard they get...Florida isnt unbeatable...if you think they are...just ask Houston Nutt

This game is a blow-out.  Florida wins by more than 2 TD's.

People, you should at the very least discredit those people that think that the line is "fishy at -3" and that at -9  "Vegas" knows something.

 

Vegas knows that the public will be on Florida, and since Florida doesn't play many close games (no game other than the loss to Ole Miss has been within something like 17 points)...the public Florida backers will be willing to lay any number of points on Florida.

 

Notice how any Florida backer is claiming that this game will be a blowout of at least 14 points.  I suspect that the vast majority of people willing to take Florida at -9 would take them at -13.5 or -14.  I doubt people would feel as comfortable backing Bama at -6.5...  For that reason, I think the line is HEAVILY shaded by at least 3-4 points and that a true line would be FLA -7 or -6.

 

I don't see a blowout for the SEC championship.  People are being short-minded to think about how all of the major SEC hype-games this season have been one-sided (Georgia Bama, Fla UGA, Fla LSU, etc).  History will tell you that the underdog has a tendency of winning outright in SEC championship games.

 

Should be close.  Don't lay two scores.
