7 straight unders for my alma mater - WVU dictates the pace of the game with their length on defense and their ability to control the boards. HOWEVER, with Truck out it was apparent our ball handling suffered and I expect Kentucky to really turn up the pressure on our ball handleres, create steals, and push for fast breaks. They also have the size and strength upfront to out-rebound WVU giving second chance opportunities.

Kentuky by 85 points. Teams can rally together when they lose a player for a game, but the next game is always a let down. Kentuky ass-rapes these mutants on national television

Don't really want to see this ass rape but yeah I think KY wins handily. We saw the value of truck the other night, KYs speed exacerbates that problem.

guys help me here. i don't see any reason not to go alll in on KY.
half of covers has bet against KY last two games (wake?? )
I've watch most of televised KY games an a number of WVU games. WVU is tough but they can destroy themselves. THink of the PITT game when they had a 7 point lead w/ 2 minutes left and lost the game
KY doesn't have weaknesses to me. Help me see any counter position.

The only weakness Kentucky may possess is 3 point shooting, but its more than offsetted by their athleticism, length, and the defensive pressure they will be able to apply to the "Truckless" Mountaineers. Lay the 4!!!!! Kentucky all the way to the bank.

Sorry, I'm not putting my hard earned money on that drunken flake Huggens. I'll take Kentucky and let the chips fall were they may. Kentucky is the better team no doubt. They have the better coach and athletes. They also seem to be lazer focussed right now. More than any other team in the tourney still in or out of it!!!! They haven't had a stumble game yet, and I don't expect them too.

The Wildcats have been prone to playing close games this season, although they have turned it up lately with three convincing tournament victories. West Virginia is battle tested and has held its own against quality competition, only losing one game by double digits in the past three months. Kentucky has the edge in size and talent, but West Virginia's leadership and resiliency will be a major determinant of the outcome. From what I have seen of both teams this season, I sense that this game will come down to the wire.

On paper. yes UK looks tough to beat, and also on the floor. But there are a few minor issues that have to be clarified before I lose my money on big blue. 1. This game is being played in Big East country (Carrier Dome) 2. UConn played UK pretty tough on a neutral court earlier in the year. That might be meaningless, but maybe not. 3. Calipari usually checks out of the big dance either this round or next. 4. WVU steps it up vs higher seeded teams in tournament play. I'll pass for now.

Does anyone else get the feeling that West Viriginia is just playing with house money here?
There's something about the attitude of that team, the way it's players seem to be handling themselves, and the contrast in coaching styles, (in addition to the history these two guys have against one another) that's leading me to believe that West Virginia is going to win this game.
Firstly, it's awfully hard to ignore what they've been able to do defensively, particularly in their last 5 games, as well as on the glass. You can virtually guarantee that they will not get outworked in this game.
Secondly, this will be the biggest test those freshman at Kentucky have faced this year, hands down. How will they respond when the offense they've used to generating isn't there? Something tells me the more experienced team having fought it's way through the Big East by reflecting the attitude of it's coach is going to impose it's will in this game.
- Washington Coach Lorenzo
Romar looks at the Mountaineers and sees something that's rather
familiar. "Coach Huggins and his staff do a phenomenal job of taking a bunch of
athletes and putting them in a situation where they are highly
disciplined - and I don't mean that in a military sense," Romar said.
"I mean that in that they do what they're supposed to do when they're
supposed to do it. You watch their team, they're in good position
defensively. They don't do a lot of gambling, lunging, getting out of
position. They box out. They don't go for a lot of shot fakes. They
take charges. Offensively you don't see them taking a lot of bad shots.
They just do a good job with that."
Remember that Washington was averaging 80 points a game until they ran into Huggy's team.
Thirdly, Huggy Bear has absolutely dominated Calipari head-to-head. It's not even close. And as good a recruiter and motivator as coach Cal is, believe me (look at my avatar) if there's a way for him to screw this game up if it's close, he will. If Memphis had done any of about 6 things differently down the stretch against Kansas, from a coaching standpoint, they would've won that game. But they didn't.
And fourthly, WV has proven (against teams like Mizzou and Nova) that they won't be out-pressed or outrun. They're too disciplined.
I don't know. I like West Virginia today. I just think the more experienced, better coached team is going to enforce it's will and win this game.

Hard not to bet on the Cats here, they are the better team without a doubt and just about evryone here is on them !! I can see WUV keeping this one close and only losing by 2 or 3 !! Right now the spread is -3.5, may have to jump on it before it goes back to -4 !! GL guys, we may need some !!

First off just the fact that everyone is taking Kentucky and the line drops assures my pick of WEST VIRGINIA.
Kentucky has not been challenged in this tournament as the faced a 16 seed, 9 seed, and a 12 seed having not one game go down to the wire making them still not tournament tested.
Next Kentucky can not play half court basketball...West Virginia has the best half court defense in college basketball. They play physical which Kentucky can not handle on the offensive of the ball
WEST VIRGINIA---win outright

It's almost a cliche coined here, 'don't over think it'! Remain unimpressionable and don't be manipulated by the #s and remarks barffed on this site. Place your pix, go mow your lawn then enjoy the game! KU winning by an avg' of 21! You think they're gonna' let up in any way?!

The funniest thing about some of these posts are that they talk about how physical WVU is, and that UK hasn't faced anyone that tries to slow it down and bang in the halfcourt. CLEARLY you haven't seen every game this season as I and most UK fans have. Opponents have tried every style and pace to beat this UK team and only 2 have been successful, and one of those happen to be in the Elite 8, and it was a rival on senior day. So just when you think WVU has been so "battle tested" don't lose faith in this UK team who has won a lot of close games this year in a conference that doesn't look so bad after all folks. Yes, I am a homer. Just wanted to give you guys another point of view.

I agree with a lot of what you say. What worries me is, their lousy ass foul shooting and three point shots, could be a lot better. They haven't faced anybody so far in this tourney though. And if they laze around like they did with Cornell to start with, they're in trouble. And if they come out strong, we'll have to worry about WVA coming back strong. Oh yes, I'm a homer here also. But, I'm trying to look at facts and the history of the Cats. Tough game to bet any money on. JMO though. Good luck any way you go. Cats to the Championship game.

Oh yeah, I've wanted to say it all year. If Wall would change that cocky fucking attitude, I think he would be a lot more help to the team. Sorry fellow Ky fans. I've been a fan for 50 years and I've seen how this shit can go, in the tourney.

Don't worry UK fans you'll advance here and who knows maybe even hang a championship banner in Rupp for a couple years til the NCAA catches up with Calipari yet again. -- Wildcats-3.5 & UNDER 132.5
