I THINK THE NUMBERS WOULD PROVE TO BE EVEN BETTER IF CHECKED AT 14 AND ABOVE. IT WOULD BE GOOD TO SEE THE NUMBER OF OUTRIGHT WINNERS AS WELL. LAST NIGHT YOU HAD THREE 14 PT PLUS COVERS WITH NC GREENSBORO, AKRON AND UCSB (OUTRIGHT WINNER)!

Austin Peay may be a good play as W. KEN (+15) kept close to the number shoot less than 40% from the field and Memphis is 2-3 laying 9.5 or more this year! 
N. Arizona has covered both times this year when they were getting double digits or near double digits on the road.
YOUNGSTOWN ST. has covered the only time  when getting double digits while NC STATE has gone 1-1 laying double digits. YS did lose by 30 to Robert Morris but, NC STATE also lost by 40 to WISC.
N. ARIZ is 2-0 when getting double digit (both on the road) and ARIZONA is 6-1 when laying double digits. This may be one to avoid although UNLV showed last night what can happen when coming off a marquee loss.

Good insight.  I agree that if you looked at every team getting 14 and above you would have a winning season.

Austin Peay is a decent team, they played OAKLAND (with Campbell) into OT and play decent against Purdue, the only thing that scares me is that there best player Anthony Campbell is out for the season avg. 14pts....I still they can keep this game within the posted number...

Nevermind the previous post i was looking at the Mizz game.  A.P is still 14.5 and we may even get the mizzou game down to 14 for two plays tonight.

youngstown was at +15.5 at tip. They are looking solid. Maybe this number thing has some merit

If you look over all the games in the last three years that have +14 spreads, they will end up about 50%-50%. I've recorded thousands of games and there is no special spread  that wins more than around 50% of the time.

I'm sure that's true, but it seems to me like the larger spreads very often indicate what the linesmakers feel they can get away with (due to public perception) rather than being true indicators of either team's strength or weakness.

Books don't operate off of public perception anymore, they don't need to. They make millions just off of juice and parlays. If you pick 51% in basketball spreads straight up, the casino is still making great bank off of u. They don't need to trick us, they make money off of most of us just because of juice.
