Purdue.  Not sure if you have  checked out Sarasota Slims post, but a teenage genius from Austin Tex has picked his CBS bracket perfectly so far.  He's got Purdue advancing to the final four.  He's only 17 but Vegas has to be shaking in their boots thinking about when this kid grows up.  BOL in the remaining rounds.

The odds of that are pretty crazy. I would be curious to know how many brackets he entered.  Either way, let's get him on covers.

Thanks for stopping in Purdue.  Would love to hear your take on the Illini tonight.  Thinking that Webber's got those kids playing with a lot of confidence right now and has convinced them that this NIT Championship really does mean something even though they're surely disappointed for missing their chance in the big one.  Together with you and Crus I think I can get a much better feel for that game. I'm taking a day out of work today would love to make up for the cash.  BOL on all the plays and your Boilers Hummelless run.

ok, have a bit of free time right now so here's my take on the Purdue-Duke game.

Two keys to this game for Purdue - one is going to be their perimeter defense.  Duke has three outside scorers who make up the majority of their offense.  Kramer will be on Kyle Singler and although he will give up a couple inches to Singler, it shouldnt be a problem.  Kramer is one of the best defenders in the country and can take on anyone regardless of the height differential.  He will be able to contain him on the perimeter.  The main question is who will be on Scheyer.  It will be either Grant or Moore who are also good defenders as well.  But, the toll it will take on them on the defensive end running around screens will affect the offensive threat bc of tired legs (more so in the 2nd half).  Painter will use a combination of those two and Barlow throughout the game to help eliminate the tiredness the players will get in the 2nd half.  I feel all three guys can defend and hang with Scheyer,  There's no doubt he will get his points - the question is containing him enough and making other Duke players beat them (Nolan Smith, Thomas, Plumlee brothers, etc.)

The second main key i see is rebounding.  Purdue has not been the best rebounding team although they played well rebounding in their last two games.  The frontcourt lacks a lot of depth, and Duke has that depth in the Plumlee brothers, Zoubek, and Lance Thomas.  JaJuan Johnson HAS to be aggressive getting rebounds, but at the same time if he gets into foul trouble like he did against A&M in the 1st half then that will spell doom for Purdue.  If he has to go out for extended minutes then Duke will run away with this game.  I can't stress enough how important rebounding will be in this game.  Limit second chance points as much as possible and Purdue will be fine.

My roomate is a manager for the team, and I talk with some of the players here and there and  can tell you what, the players are absolutely pumped and will be ready to play (although all teams should be excited to play, I know).  But I get a good feeling about these players attitudes and trying to prove all the doubters wrong that they cant win without Hummel.  The HEART and INTENSITY will come to play in this game

Furthermore, Hummell will be making the trip to Houston and be on the bench (he didnt make the trip to Spokane bc of surgery).   This can only benefit Purdue to have extra motivation as Hummell watches on the bench and ability to use his leadership in team huddles and what not.

There are obviously other keys to the game but I feel these two are the mot important. In addition, I think Purdue will try to slow things down.  They are not going to want to be in a track meet with Duke, although I think they can hang with them if that's how the flow of the game goes.  It will be very tough for Purdue to win - they will need their best effort of the year.

Duke wins (but i hope Purdue does ), but not in a blowout.  And this game will stay under with a slower paced game and both teams being great defensively.

    PURDUE +10 (-BUY 1/2) 4U

    PURDUE/DUKE UNDER 129 (2U)

Wanted to lock it in bc on of my books has +9.5 and another has +8  I can't see it getting any higher so buying the hook and getting +10 is very good IMO.

This might sound odd, but I think with all the national attention to that kids bracket and the success of dogs so far you're probably right about getting the line know rather than later.  Also think the pace of this game is crucial to any success that Purdue is going to have.  That being said Duke has played the majority of their games under the totals this year and for them to mess with success and try and speed it up may cause problems for them.  Going to be interesting and I'm sure we'll know in the first three minutes how Coach K is going to try and pace this game.  Thinking of jumping in with you so in wishing you luck there's a little extra motivation for me.  BOL tonight and especially tomorrow.

Thank you for sticking up for the autistic kid. I have an autistic grandson how is 14 years old. He can work a computer faster than anyone in my family. I too am very disappointed when someone makes statements like itsmetrick1 did.

I guess he is not to swart him self.

Maybe you can send this to him.

    Thanks Again

My last thread somehow got deleted, i've been on the road the last week so havent been able to update my thread.  Anyways for today I got:

NEW MEXICO ST +13 (8u) - My biggest play of the first round.  I absolutely love this play.

PURDUE -4 (2u) - Purdue is not going to go far in the tourney, but I think they come out and play good ball and get the win. The next game would be a place to hammer A&M if they were to win as well.

    LOUISVILLE PK (2u)

    CLEMSON -1.5 (3U)

    ARK-PB/DUKE OVER 125 (2U)

    GONZAGA +1 (2U)

BOL the rest of the way
