Vegas didn't make the call, but obviously it was a bad call, like someone said they just didnt want to be the ones that change the course of the game

My main point is that its just one more box rule that just doen't belong in real comptitive sports,, especially the abitilty to turn back time and review it,,what a joke,, if it's not blatent enough to be called in live time,,, so be it,, thats sports ,(or at least it used to be).

Sorry but there is no way that Marquette deserved  a point and a turnover for that minor accident, that wasn't even called live.

once again, marquette was losing this game regardless, and the elbow was entirely accidental. But the rule for a flagrant 1 doesn't require intent, accidental elbows still fall within the category. I agree that the rule is weak and accidental contact like that shouldn't merit ft's and the ball, but they should ref according to the retarded rules that they make up

Maybe so...but it is the RULE.  Accidental or not.  Doesn't matter.  Intent has nothing to do with it.  Intent and severity determines if it is a flagrant 1 or 2.   A lot less has been called a flagrant 1 this year.  I am not saying MU would've won or that they deserved anything...all I am saying is that it is a call they have to make.

The thing i hate the most is that they call it when the fucking want, i dont care that is a weak rule, as long as they are consistent with it, but of course the refs cant do that

Are you a fucking moron?  Obviously my 'Quette bet was shit.  Even if they made the call doesn't mean they win, but atleast give them the chance to play it out.  Just have some damn consistency with the way the games are called.

I don't think I'm a fucking moron, but some may disagree with me on that.

    (Are you really that fat?)

They didn't DESERVE the flagrant call. Moreover, my point was that too many people on these boards blame the refs for costing them a game when the truth is the TEAM they BET ON played poorly.

Dumbass...it is not about deserving it.  And yes, Marquette was outplayed.  No question about it...but it is a rule and should've been called.  A lot less has been called a flagrant 1 this year.

do you people realize florida was still getting their 2 free throws even if they did call it a flagrant 1? they called a foul on marquette after that which still would have stood. so at best it would have been  a wash on the free throws and they would have only gained a point if they only made 1 of 2..getting the ball after is a non issue because they would have after floridas free throws anyway.. certainly not a difference maker by any means

Yea, I'm not arguing that it was a violation according to the current rules---  letter of the law and all that,,,  but like I said to begin with, thank God they didn't call it,,

Maybe this and others will bring attention to what a womens leauge rule this is,, probably not,,,,   Acually in hindsight, it probably would have done more good if they wouldv'e fucked up the whole ending with a that call and robbed FLA,, that may have brought more attention to it. and get it reviewed and dumped.

I didn't have JDS on this game, so I apologize for pissing on this threads intent,,   GL going  forward...

I'm sorry your poorly coached Wisconsin team lost. Don't take it out on me. :)

You know what, that's a good point, and I feel pretty stupid for ignoring it..  Although my question would be this,,, if they are reviewing this (or let's say a similar play in the future) and the elbow makes contact first, then the foul is called on the defense, can (or does) the second foul get nulified after the turn back time replay is reviewed?

Doesn't matter who anyone bet on dude.  A flagrant foul is a flagrant foul.  That was a flagrant foul.  And, the officiating was one-sided the entire game.  I even remarked to my friends at the bar during the first half when Crowder got that ridiculous 2nd foul, which was a touch foul AT BEST.  Either these guys were on the take, or they were just that fucking incompetent.  Was Donaghy the alternate in this game?

    The non-call was incorrect.  A Flagrant 1 is a Flagrant 1.  That was a Flagrant 1.  Period.

you got it exactly right smac. I grew up with Teddy and that sumbitch is as crooked as hell. BTW, he was the only black kid in the neighborhood. He was a high school baseball coach and phys ed teacher around these parts and rumors were flying that he was doing some of the female softball players. He took off about 6 months later. Believe what you want but this guy is a slime.

How about him slapping JT3 on the ass the other day. He should have been suspended for that shit alone.

you're right, that is what the thread is about- this being a stupid rule and being called incorrectly and inconsistently. trading free throws wouldn't have done much for MU.
