Thank you for the additional insight on your abilities to pick a winner. Sorry to come in here and be a d*ck UNC, but this guys goes around dogging other people's plays - and find it comical that he would type the above. Just a gem.
so do you want him to apologize for recognizing and pointing out that there might be value in the insights of other posters, who might have a particular expertise on certain teams? and who cares, as long as he's mostly following the right ones? glad you at least recognize that you're being a dick, that's the first step ...

I look at this like a stock market. If line gets pounded up or down more than 2 points or so before tip you are supposed to follow the line as it will pay off in the long run. Other guys that move the lines like this know alot more than I do as they know something and lay a lot down. The best example or most recent. CITADEL last night.
Makes sense. If enough money is on one side to influence the book makers to move the line, then somebody probably knows something. I follow that rational as well. I just didn't know if you knew something particular about BYU. Thanks as always for the insight!!

I am betting BYU for pretty much the same reason as XAV. First true road game for ASU. Only we have a big revenge game here and if BYU can take away ASU 3 ball they will roll big here. BYU does not get to play the power house schools to often and to get them to come to there gym is a bonus. They will play at a different level tonight and I dont see ASU matching the intensity on the road. ASU does not defen the perimeter well and BYU will expose that at home. If this was a nuetral setting I would not play it. The match-ups here remind me a lot of the DUKE/ASU game. Home team has dominated the series in this one also.

Thanks! I notice you like to play the intensity angle in terms of what team has a revenge factor, a rare big school opportunity or other motivating factors. That is a great read. That angle worked for you with N. Texas vs. AM as well. Well done.

TCU (+9.5) won 85-80 at Texas Tech LY; Horned Frogs are 4-3, losing only home game 68-63 at La Tech. Underdogs are 5-2 vs spread in TCU games this fall. Tech handed Washington its first loss in OT last week; Red Raiders are 8-0 but playing first road game; Huskies are only good team they played so far. Big 12 road teams are 20-13 vs spread.

Butler is 6-2, 4-2 away from Hinkle Fieldhouse, losing on neutral court to Minnesota, Clemson; their best win is at Northwestern. Horizon dogs are 11-12 vs spread in non-league games. Georgetown is 6-0 but its only good win was 46-45 vs Temple. Big East favorites are 14-6 vs spread away from home. Butler has edge in experience.

Ok here we go I have been back and forth on this one all morning. I am going to lay it though...
BUT +3 (30U)
BUT is battle tested playing away from home this season and playing against quality teams. The key though is if Hayward and Howard dont fade in this game. I find it very hard for Howard to get in foul trouble here as Monroe is not a big man that like to attack the basket and create fouls. There is no one on the floor tonight that can stop Hayward for GTOWN.
I am going through GTOWN schedule and this is the most overrated 13 team in the country. There stats are skewed to the type of teams they have played so far this season. I understand that I said this is a type of game that GTOWN can prove or make a statement from last season mishaps but they will have plenty of chances down the road. BUT on the other hand really playing one of there last few big games of the season. With OSU looming around the corner this another type of game to strengthen there seed come March.
Butler played great against MINN and CLEM before folding late. Both teams is my eyes right now have big men that are playing much better than GTOWNS right now. The battle ready expierence is there and a team that is doing a lot of growing up should pay off for this match-up. I just hope we dont have Big East refs tonight.
I think the style of play that GTOWN plays and the ability for BUT to play in the half court or run will not bode well for GTOWN. I see 3 points to many for a game that could come down to the final shot. What I am saying is GTOWN style does not blow teams out unless they are playing cupcakes.
GTOWN will force a bunch of shots and I hope BUT can captilize off those mistakes. This should be a great game but in the end I want a team that is battle tested right now and a team that is truely in a must win situation. They win tonight or against OSU this team will be in the Top 25 for the rest of the season. The Garden is a familiar area for Butler and this should be nothing new to them. Hayward and Howard has to stay out of foul trouble though.
Take it what its worth. Dont tail just to tail cap the game yourself.

I think that's a good decision that Illinois is a "No Play". To me, that looks like a coin flip game, even though Illinois rarely loses at home. But Vanderbilt is a solid ball club, and I figure this game to be a close game.

I typically play the angle of a home team laying points to the higher ranked team but with so much love for ILL this is a no play.

Good luck with that Butler play, but I thought Portland was battle-tested, then they lose to Idaho and Minnesota was battle-tested and they lost to Miami?? Also, this G-town-Butler game looks like the Syracuse-Cal game played at MSG, and the Cuse won that game. Just a few thoughts.....

Portland is overrrated and I dont know why so many bought into this group..
This is far from the CUSE/CAL game. CAL had no inside presence, injured players, and going against a zone that is long and athletic did not help.

G towns def scares me there pretty impressive so far where Butlers def not that good i agree a close matchup here and if comes down to free throws G town not bad i think 68%. Butler definetely played tougher teams another thing i'm looking at 3pts g town small edge.Handicapping this gm looks as if g town wants to slow pace and show patience. GL but my lean is Hoyas
