Mich -6.5 and Why

It's been a fun season -let's try to end it with a win.    According to madduxsports.com the line opened at -7.5 and is now at 6.5 at most places.   

A few things to note - game is being played on a neutral court so both teams are away.    In order to do an apples to apples comparison - I go to statsharp.com and collect data on both teams when they are away.  Also, need to look at Kenpom for rank and Schedule strength.    Here's what it looks like:

        Uconn   +/- Assists to turnovers    10.6 Off Rebounds        Shooting perc. Def. 43%   Kpom rank 9  Kpom Sched 22

-7.5    Mich   +/-  Assists to Turnovers     10.2 Off Rebounds         Shooting perc Def 39%   Kpom rank 1 Kpom Sched 2   

What does it all mean -  nothing until you compare it with similar games played on neutral courts along with an opening line of 7.5 for the bottom team.     When I do that, the data indicates the bottom team covers both the first half and game in majority of these situations.   A few games to mention Louisv/Virg.   virg. crushed both fh and game; Tenn/Mich mich crsd bth; Nd/Duke duke led by 4 fh then crushed gm by 18 ; Mizzou/Fla  fla crsd both fh and game.  

I need a reason why - thus my reason.    

My play Mich -6.5  for the game .

What about the stat that says when UConn gets to the finals they win….When Michigan gets to the finals they can’t get the job done?

 That’s correlation - not cause and effect - thus I don’t use it .   

Hoping this game ends like the Nd Duke mentioned above - come on Mich. !!!!! Get it done

 You didn’t factor in the bank three-pointer and in Michigan only hitting two three-pointers the entire game.  come on man
