Question

Won a huge amount early in the season, but I have had only one winning day since 12/28. Decided to try one more day today and took Northeastern and Cincy but lost both as usual.

I'm convinced that this is some kind of sick joke because I had a "1 for 27" stretch last year too as I went 1 for 27 on NBA bets at one point last season. I guess 1/27 is much lucky number.

Quitting now that I'm back to even for the year because I can't really stomach being down. Good bye and good luck to everybody.

Sorry to hear that and I hope you have better luck whether it be in gambling or elsewhere. I&#x27;m really hoping I can walk away and never come back this time. Even when I&#x27;m winning I&#x27;m always stressed out. Not sure how this is worth it anymore.

feel your pain. this can be a very frustrating hobby. i took cincy +6 tonight, and last shot by cincy was the win or loss shot. naturally, the shot was missed and i lost. if i took syracuse the shot would have been made.

doesnt have to be all or nothing. just take a play from time to time and try to focus your efforts and be selective. increasing your volume of plays doesnt break the slump, it's just the opposite. reduce your "unit size" or whatever you call it and just make small wagers. you can still have fun with it and keep it as a hobby and not stress so much about bleeding cash. and i guarantee you won't go through another 1-27 stretch.

SMART MONEY MANAGEMENT is the only way for thos ewho want to stay around long enough to get into those so called WINNING STREAKS.

Had many Guys in the 90's waiting for my college football pix and the same guys 3 months later waitin to see what i played to go against me. Streaks come and go. Its never as good as it seems or as bad as as it seems.

I&#x27;ve always put tons of work into every play. That&#x27;s part of the reason why I said I don&#x27;t feel like it&#x27;s worth it. So much time and effort and nothing to show.

It sounds like you really know what you&#x27;re doing. To go 1/27 you DID manage your bankroll properly which I always say is 50% of this game. I know it&#x27;s just as difficult to go 26/27. That $ mgmt for most people have NO clue.Take some time time off and come back gradually. Winning 55% is all you need with proper $ mgmt, AND that is commendable. Anyone who says they win much more over the long haul is LYING! I&#x27;ve taken many &#x27;breaks&#x27; over my many years. However, if it bothers you that much, you should quit. Good luck w/ whatever you do.

We are both at the same point, however, going in different directions. I lost about 50% of my bankroll early and thought about taking the loss and quiting. Instead I put my bank in an envelope and taped it up with a date two weeks later to open it back up. My first bet after the break was for $5 and I won. A $5 bet felt like no pressure compared to the bets I was making. That win, however, felt good. Many wins would follow to the point that I am now back even.

Early in the season I made comments like "they have to cover that easy spread" and "they have beat them 10+ times in a row (ML bets)." Tonight I caught myself making a comment like that with Iona -10.5. "They beat them down bad earlier this year and should cover easy." I went with my next pick Drexel -11 instead. Glad I did because Iona lost outright tonight and I was shocked that I almost lost another game after making such a dumb statement...they should cover easy.

Put your bankroll in an envelope and tape it up. Pick a date to open it up and make the smallest bet you can on your best pick.

When you lose and can&#x27;t pay bills, THEN ITS MORE THAN JUST MONEY. Never been that bad off but I remember a time 15 or so years ago, my bank account was down to $2.31, lol, and I was 3 days away from Pay Day...sucked. I&#x27;m guessing some of you are buried in cc debt and get those collection calls often.
