I think the real issue is their were just way to many bad inconsistent teams this season

I'm still on the fence with Texas and a 7th seed at that who went 3-12 against Tourney teams this season yuck.  Don't get me started with Mich st and UVA.  Then I look and it's like who could I really replace those teams with?  People are making an argument SJU but they had stretch where they went 2-10 I mean that is a lot of L's in one stretch to the point Pitino threw his whole team under the bus bc they were they were just that bad.  The quality of teams and conferences are just not what they once used to be.  It could be the NIL, transfer portal, legalization of betting who knows but its pretty dam evident.  So its hard to see an issue or make an argument with the teams who got in vs who didn't imo

I agree. Pitino comes off as an arrogant bitter old man. He thinks St. John's is too good for the NIT. They are a good team, but every year there are good teams that you could make an argument for that should have got in. You would think he would have figured that out by now. Now his players season is over and they can't try to compete in the NIT because of his arrogance and bitterness. He should have just stayed retired.

 Love ya leg, but pitino wasn't retired.

He was the HC at Iona and did such a great job in a short time, that St. JOHNS recruited him to be the coach.
