I just watched the Xavier kids at the press conference and loved it

I haven't watched the fight more than once yet, so I'm reserving judgement on who was right or wrong. But I myself love when guys throw down and wish it wasn't an automatic suspension. I loved the way the Xavier kids spoke at the post game presser.

 

I realize I'm wrong on this so save the bullshit on "we can't have this in sports." LOL I realize that. I still love it. And I liked the fact the players didn't back down and apologize afterwards.

You liked the fact that he looked straight into the camera and said " we have a bunch of gangstas in this locker room ". I wanted to puke in my mouth. These kids are unreal.

it makes me feel good that we're giving a bunch of "gangstas" free rides to prestigious schools, when we have bright intelligent kids working jobs and taking out student loans to just making it through school and who do the right thing every day.

Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin certainly indicated he is going to take strong action. In his postgame news conference, Cronin said, "I have never been this embarrassed in my entire career. "It's a complete embarrassment,'' Cronin said. "Toughness is doing the right thing. You take your ass-whipping and go home. If my players don't act the right way, they will never play another game at Cincinnati.'' Cronin led the Bearcats to the NCAA tournament for the first time in his five seasons last March and received a three-year contract extension in April. Cronin said that he and the school president will watch the tape and determine which players "remain on the team.'' Kudos To Cronin. The Xavier players in the press confrence totally disgraced the sport.. rivalry or nothing, no reason to punch someone in a basketball game, it's not hockey, hell even football players get HUGE fines for throwing punches... Yates should be banned for the rest of the year imo... set an example to anyone else who wants to try and be cool and possibly fuck a dudes eye up permanently all in a COLLEGE BASKETBALL GAME, come one people no place for that shit in basketball, no equipment, someone could get seriously fucked up

People who think that being a scholarship athlete is easy are out of their mind.  I'm not saying it isn't fun, but, it is not easy, it is no "free ride".  99 percent of those kids work their ass off.  It's a full time job. 

I remember being in college and wishing that I was one of the regular students and could just be a teenager.

Were you a college D-1 scholarship athlete??  I was and it was the EASIEST time of my life.  What is hard??

Playing a sport that you love everyday of the week???  Or going to class like every other college student???

I am 29 years old and wish I could go back to being a college athlete. 

I would much rather spend a couple hours a day reading some books and playing sports than living the life as an adult with professional job

I like the fact that Cincy players are tough and wanna duke it out--hell yeah. I'm tired of soft teams, no attitude, no in your face attitude.

Maybe it's bad to see, little unsettling, but deep down all of you want to see it happen, just afraid to admit it.

That was a weak fight.  The actual punches and punches that landed were all sucker punches hitting people who werent even looking.

I dont think college have to go through classes post interview classes like they do in the pros. You watch the news, majority of the peole they interview say dumb things or just really dont know how to act accordingly. Im pretty sure that got an earfull from family/friends who seen it
