I cannot emphasize enough how many Loyola shots have rimmed out or popped out. Even the Detroit announcers are talking about how absurd it is. Every shot that has missed has somehow found a way to escape the cylinder

I'm trying to see your view on Loyola (IL). Sure they lost BOTH games to Detroit already, and I can see a revenge factor, my question to you is do you think they will actually WIN or just take the points?
Jan 6 @ (IL) - Det 83-71
Feb 5 vs - Det 81-71
I have DETROIT winning again in a parlay....because of one factor! They're SIZE!
Detroit is also a BETTER home team than road team.
Loyola (IL) 2 biggest players on the court:
- Averkamp 6'8" 230
- Polka 6'7" 240
Detroit 2 biggest players on the court:
- Holman 6'10" 255
- Lowe 6'11" 210
- Minnerath 6'8" 220
In the Jan 6th game Detroit outrebounded them 40-29....5 Off Reb's for HOLMAN of Detroit and 2 Off Reb's for Averkamp of Loyola (IL).
Sure Detroit had an uncharacteristic 9 - 3 pter's to Loyola's 6 - 3 pters.
-----------------------------------------------
BUT in the Feb 5th game Detroit only rebounded them 39-34.....4 Off Reb's for HOLMAN and 3 Off Reb's for McCammon of Loyola (IL).
This time Loyola had more 3 - pointers.....7 to Detroit's 6.

A round of applause for a well-capped, never in doubt winner with Detroit's first round victory in the Horizon League CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT. He used sound reasoning rather than preseason rankings to crush his bookie. nropp offered one chipper line of retort pointing to Illinois, which was entirely irrelevant, in regards to MRSUREPICKS excellent, winning analysis.

A lot of information and theoretical matchup advantages/disadvantages supporting the team he valued higher in his preseason rankings.
Loyola, North Texas, VCU, Arkansas State
Who are the others?
Had Loyola 7th coming in, they finished 8th. Had North Texas 5th, they finished 6th (if you combine the two halves), had VCU 2nd, they finished 3rd, had Arkansas State 3rd, they won their division and had the second best record in the SBC.
By the way, did I happen to miss your comments on my Saturday thread? That same thread had this North Texas team which mutilated Denver that you just brought up.
Said it from day 1, preseason rankings are not the end-all factor in making a selection, just a start of capping for value. If I don't put something on a team prior, where do I find value? Gotta start somewhere.

Well-capped? Go back and read it. He took Detroit b/c of size and rebounding. Loyola out-rebounded Detroit by 5 and had 11 more offensive rebounds on all that size.
Fact of the matter is, Loyola shot 32% against one of the worst defenses in the conference and lost, despite attempting 15 more shots.
When you win, it's excellent analysis. When you lose, it's awful.

MRSUREPICKS' Detroit pick was a winner, and from the opening tip really. Loyola didn't sniff a lead.
Just like when you bet Loyola against Detroit on January 6th. Blown out from the tip-off. Just like in the rematch one month later in Detroit when Loyola was a 5 unit nropp bomb or whatever you call them. Blown out from the tip-off once again.
Just like taking Loyola Chicago on December 4th against Valpo. What was the line, -3, -4? You probably took the money line and choked on the juice.
They weren't close. Blown out 3 times. 3 times. And that's just involving Detroit and Valpo.
You would've played Loyola tonight no matter if they were -4 or pk.
MRSUREPICKS analysis was excellent, I don't know how you can dispute that.
Detroit's size clearly frustrated the Ramblers into taking contested shots, which explains the number of offensive rebounds they had.
McCammon was 2 for 12 on 3s for Loyola.
Hey, if you're missing all your shots, someone's gotta grab them, right? 11 more offensive rebounds
The Ramblers took 25 more shots including 15 more threes and they still lost by 21.
So why don't you suck it up and give MRSUREPICKS some props for his theory that size would be the determining factor last night. It clearly was. Loyola just couldn't penetrate and break down the agility and length of a tenacious Titans defense.

Your fascination with me is borderline creepy. The End.
+1 ... reminds me of junior high school. here we have a handful of envious computer jocks; these are the same jealous punks who would try to trip you down the stairs if they had the opportunity. you have to feel pretty badly about yourself to carry on that way. jealousy sucks.

Would love to hear your thoughts on Bradley tomorrow as you know that program better than anyone. I feel like they may have a little run in them and played them @ +16000 to win the MVC (very small).
I also played them -1 vs Drake.
Good luck in the tournies...best time of the year. Miss the old days without all the riff raff on the forums.
