why was rider a favorite in the first place? theyre not good and i dont see what u guys see in a team thats 11-17?

They have actually played much better lately 10-7su(L17) & 8-5-1ats(L14). The casual bettor will just remember Rider for what they did to start the season which was go 1-10su but ask those same people how many of those teams had winning records and I bet you won't get an answer. The answer is 8 of those losses came against teams with winning records as only 2 of those losses were against losing teams. Also Albany has just 1 count em 1 win vs a team with a winning overall record this year St Francis (NY) (14-12) as 15 of their wins have come against complete garbage. I'm guessing the same people that couldn't answer the question above also didn't know this as well. Now take away the top 2 scorers along w/ a 3rd starter that helped do all this and where do you now grade Albany? I wouldn't put too much stock in them even if they had these players but now w/ out them it's obviously an auto play for anyone who bets on pure value...

Books have been proven to do this in certain situations to create confusion to uninformed bettors that may be willing to make a wager on the game. If they move it in the other direction it's like a welcoming committee to a legion of squares eagerly awaiting to align line movement and attach it to the injured players. As that line movement stood i'm sure it created enough confusion to sway many uniformed bettors from making a wager on the game. Books look at that as if they saved a great deal of money, trust me. It must have worked because if it didn't and money still was pouring in on one side they would just pull the game off the board instead of creating confusion....

Defense is always optional in any Rider game. Been that way for a long time now. Hopefully the depth chart plays a big advantage as the game moves on...
