GAME OF THE YEAR.....IS MICHIGAN ML-135
I have the utmost respect for this Syracuse team and the great coach JB, but in college basketball its all about match-ups and the Michigan Wolverines match up well against Syracuse. Michigan struggles with teams that like to pound the ball.....Syracuse doesn't do this. Michigan struggles with teams that have multiple big men that pound the offensive glass......Syracuse don't have that. The key here is MICHIGAN loves to shoot the 3 and they are playing a team who plays the 2-3 zone and they should get plenty of opportunities to hit those three's come Saturday Night. Michigan's weaknesses are on the Defensive end granted, and I know Syracuse has a great team, but the weaknesses defensively for Michigan are not the strengths for Syracuse. Syracuse's bread and butter on Defense is to cause turnovers and steals. Michigan is rated #1 in Offensive efficiency and they turn the ball over less than any other team. It will come down to strength vs strength, I just think Michigan matches up well and will score enough of points to win this game. The difference between Michigan and Indiana -- Michigan doesn't run sets to force the ball inside. McGary gets his points on put backs and penetration from the guards. Rarely, if ever, will you see Michigan running sets to give a Michigan big an ISO play in the post, which is what Indiana tried repeatedly to do. You can continue to bring up other teams and how they looked, but what do you think Florida looked like after UM went up 13-0 in the 1st 3 minutes of the game or 41-17 with 3 minutes to go in the 1st half? Here is the thing -- IT DOESN'T MATTER. Michigan isn't facing Florida and Syracuse isn't facing Indiana. My pick is Michigan ML.....MAX PLAY
LOUISVILLE VS WICHITA ST OVER 130.5....MAX PLAY.......The Cardinals have averaged 80.7 points in their 4 games while the Shockers have averaged 72.7 which mean the total is set way to low for my liking.
