I don't think Utah is getting enough credit...They have wins over LSU by 30 and Gonzaga this year.  They went from being underdogs to favorites now (-1.5) with the public pounding Zona..The Utes won 12 of their past 14 games while the Wildcats have lost 5 of 6..This Arizona team is way too inconsistant to know how they will play in this game today..I personally agree with valueforrent in this game will be a 15 pt win for UTAH

Arizona has three good players but the rest of their team sucks.  No bench, no depth.  If either Wise, Hill or Budinger get in any sort of foul trouble they're going to be in a world of hurt. 

This is my favourite play of round 1.

I too must respectfully disagree. My good sir, did you forget Nic Wise? This firecracker will dictate the tempo and command his troops in this game, dont forget Zane Johnson as well. Yes Budinger and Hill are studs, so who will stop them. Another glaring state, Utah is 271st in the nation stopping the deep ball allowing 36%, and Zona? Oh just 18th in the nation averaging a R I D I C U L O U S 40% from joe dumars range. Luke Nevilles' got talent but the 'Cats spread em out too far and Take this one.

Arizona's problem is that they are inconsistent as hell. They play very good for stretches and very bad for stretches.....because of this inconsistency they aren't a good team. However, they do have some players who if playing good are capable of beating lots of teams in this tourney. Can they string good play together for 40 minutes against Utah? Certainly........Will they? Who the hell knows. I don't know why anyone would play this game today. You just don't know what you're going to get.
 
If Arizona and Utah both play their best games, I believe Zona would win. Like I said above though, you just don't know what you're getting.
 
Two very mediocre teams going here and in my opinion there is no way in hell to figure who will win.......it's a coin flip.

A 12 and a 5 the line opens at a pick     That should be a BIG clue.  Now the 12 is a 1.5 fav over the 5?  Ok......

I definitely respect you Value, but I just saw this thread and I have to laugh.  Arizona I think caught a break matching up against Utah and Cleveland St and I think they could matchup well with Louisville.  If Arizona is catching 7 or more I think I'll take them.  This team might have caught lightning in a bottle.  The Final Four is not out of the question for the Cats now.  Unreal.

Value is usually on the ball-here though, AZ is playing with a chip on it's shoulder, the coach wants a contract from someone if it's not going to be AZ etc.. I saw them here in DC last year in the tourney.. they have Talent , and talent wins games...
