NASCAR betting is back on the board for Wednesday’s Toyota 500 at Darlington, the second of three Cup Series races in an eight-day stretch. This Wednesday night race continues an aggressive return from the COVID-19 shutdown and gives bettors a welcome chance to again bet on NASCAR odds.

Oddsmakers at Circa Sports and William Hill US sportsbooks give insights into Toyota 500 betting, including the most popular NASCAR picks, sharp bets and the biggest odds moves. Covers will update this action report up until Wednesday’s 6 p.m. ET green flag.

Who are people betting to win today’s NASCAR race?

UPDATE 6:25 P.M. ET: The start of the race was delayed by rain, but on the bright side, that keeps Toyota 500 betting open longer. At The SuperBook at Westgate, manager Derek Wilkinson said favorite Kevin Harvick (+450), co-second choice Kyle Busch (7/1) and Brad Keselowski (10/1) had the most tickets written, and the most money was on Keselowski and Busch.

UPDATE 5:45 P.M. ET: With race time approaching, Toyota 500 betting was shaping up nicely at DraftKings Sportsbook. No surprise, +350 favorite Kevin Harvick was taking the most money – actually tied with Jimmie Johnson – and was second in tickets written, a tick behind Johnson (18/1) and Kyle Busch (+650).

UPDATE 5 P.M. ET: About an hour before the green flag dropped, William Hill US director of trading Nick Bogdanovich was pleased with NASCAR betting for this midweek night race at Darlington. "We're writing pretty good bets to the futures book. Kevin Harvick has the most tickets and most money," Bogdanovich said of the +450 favorite. Harvick, who won Sunday's race at this same track, is also drawing money at -125 for his head-to-head matchup with Kyle Busch (+105).

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET: South Point sportsbook director Chris Andrews noted a handful of drivers creating a little liability on Toyota 500 odds, including 4/1 favorite Kevin Harvick. Other drivers drawing bets include Brad Keselowski (12/1), Joey Logano (12/1) and Tyler Reddick (35/1). And one long shot is a very popular bet: "They love Ryan Newman," Andrews said of the 100/1 shot who survived an incredible crash in February's Daytona 500.

Bettors are taking a shine to the entirety of one team as they wager on Toyota 500 odds.

“So far, we’ve seen solid action on all the Hendrick cars to win,” Circa sportsbook director Matt Metcalf said. “Lots of support for Alex Bowman, Jimmie Johnson, William Byron and Chase Elliott after having speed last week.”

Indeed, Bowman was second and Elliott fourth in The Real Heroes 400 on Sunday at the same Darlington track. Johnson was leading and just a half-lap from winning the race’s first stage before a crash took him out. In Darlington NASCAR betting Part II, Bowman is the +895 co-fifth choice, Elliott is the +745 third choice, Byron is +1725 and Johnson 20/1.

Metcalf said there are a few smaller to-win wagers on Kevin Harvick – who took Sunday’s checkered flag – and Martin Truex Jr. Harvick is the +560 favorite and Truex Jr. the +650 second choice.

Circa Sports also offers a Yes/No market with NASCAR betting odds, leading to some interesting sharp bets involving the Joe Gibbs Racing cars.

“Some solid No action against the Gibbs cars right now,” Metcalf said. “Large No bets against Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin.”

Busch’s Yes/No odds are +855/-1505, respectively, and Hamlin’s are +895/-1570.

Which long shots are people betting to win today’s NASCAR race?

At Circa Sports, the only semi-long shot getting much attention in Toyota 500 betting odds is Jimmie Johnson.

“He opened 26/1 and is at 20/1 now. He leads the ticket count overall,” Metcalf said.

Which NASCAR props are being bet for today’s race?

William Hill US director of trading Nick Bogdanovich pointed to a couple of Toyota 500 head-to-head matchup props that attracted some betting: Byron as a -170 favorite against Matt Kenseth (+150), and Aric Almirola as -125 chalk against Matt DiBenedetto (+105).

At Circa Sports, Metcalf raved about how much was bet on head-to-head and group matchups for Sunday’s Cup Series race at Darlington. Wednesday’s Darlington betting seems headed that direction, too.

“Group matchups are garnering lots of interest, due to the ability to parlay them,” Metcalf said. “Lots of head-to-head matchup action going, as well, with over 50 matchups to choose from. Overall great write early. Hopefully the weather cooperates and they get the race in.”

The start time was originally 7:30 p.m., but was moved to 6 p.m. ET in hopes of eluding rain.
