The final week of the 2025 CFL regular season kicks off on Friday night with a clash between the Ottawa Redblacks and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Ottawa has been eliminated from the playoffs and is a 14.5-point underdog against the Ticats, who can clinch first place in the East Division with a win.

That said, my Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats predictions think this spread is too wide. Here are my best free CFL picks for this Week 21 clash on October 24.

Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats prediction

My Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats pick: Redblacks +14.5 (-115 at BET99)

Parity has been a theme in the CFL this year, which makes this spread a bit too steep for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The Ticats are 10-7 but have an average scoring margin of +0.5 points per game, with just three wins coming by 14 or more points. Meanwhile, the Ottawa Redblacks are 4-13 but have a scoring margin of -5.9 ppg, with only three losses by 14+ points.

Ottawa was eliminated from the playoffs in Week 18, but played hard in last week's loss to the red-hot Alouettes.

Third-string QB Tyrie Adams is trying to earn a bigger rolem and he completed 27 of 44 passes for 286 yards with three touchdowns against the Als. He also threw three picks, but expect better ball security this week since he should be more comfortable in his second straight start.

It can be tough to gauge motivation for eliminated teams at the end of the CFL regular season. Some vets are just playing out the string, but for fringe starters, it can be a good opportunity to make the most of their playing time.

In addition, the Ticats could pull some key starters if they get up big, which would be an opening for a backdoor cover by Ottawa.

Redblacks vs Tiger-Cats same-game parlay (SGP)

Redblacks +14.5

Over 52.5

The Redblacks lost in a 39-28 shootout last week, and that was with Adams getting off to a slow start after not taking a snap since 2023. This week they play against a Tabbies squad that isn't quite as good on defense as Montreal, but is just as explosive on offense.

In addition, the Ticats are led by QB Bo Levi Mitchell, who is in contention for his third Most Outstanding Player award. We could see their offense push the ball downfield and try to pump his numbers up to help his MOP campaign.
