Chantelle Cameron vs Katie Taylor boxing prediction and best bet

Prediction: Chantelle Cameron ML

The first fight between Cameron and Taylor wasn’t as close as the judges scored it, and it didn’t leave much to the imagination on how the rematch would look. Taylor was outgunned and overmatched against her younger, physically stronger opponent, as she could not get a foothold at any point during their May clash.

The 37-year-old Taylor was also lucky to get the nod over Amanda Serrano in the fight preceding the Cameron defeat, so she's showing signs of a rapid decline. Cameron comfortably won thanks to her whiplash jab and body attack, which kept Taylor at bay and unable to get busy enough to outpace the champ.

With Cameron already beating Taylor straight up in Ireland six months ago, it isn’t a stretch to imagine she’ll do it again. Taylor was competitive, but there was nothing she could do to dent Cameron or outsmart her.

Cameron is a tactically diligent fighter in her own right, and with an undersized, aged opponent in front of her, she made easy work of a great fighter.

She shouldn’t have too much trouble repeating a win over Taylor. She’ll win by a wider margin on the cards this time, handing the future Hall of Famer her second straight defeat.

Prediction: Chantelle Cameron moneyline (-185 at DraftKings)

Best bet: Chantelle Cameron ML

As long as the moneyline has Cameron longer than -200, that remains the best bet. Cameron isn’t going to deviate from her already successful game plan just to try and stop Taylor. That might happen organically, but Taylor is still mobile enough and tough in her own right to take Cameron’s power.

This should be a fight that inches dangerously close to going the distance, though if Cameron can work over Taylor’s midsection hard enough, she might have a sitting duck in front of her for the back half of the fight. While I acknowledge the possibility, I don’t think Taylor is that far gone where she’s susceptible to getting stopped.

Cameron on the moneyline is the best bet to make for the fight and will be a solid parlay pick for your weekend betting.

Prediction: Chantelle Cameron moneyline (-185 at DraftKings)

Chantelle Cameron vs Katie Taylor betting preview

Undisputed junior welterweight champion Cameron used her size and body attack last May to turn Taylor away in an excellent fight. The undefeated champion from Northampton looks to repeat the feat and secure her place in history.

Taylor’s homecoming against Cameron couldn’t have gone worse. Known for her boxing prowess and agility, Taylor was visibly worn and slow four rounds in against her younger foe.

The undisputed lightweight champion believes in her talent and skill and hopes that the time since her first career defeat has given her clarity on how to proceed in the rematch.

Cameron had no trouble keeping Taylor at the end of her jab and made sure to use her size advantage when the two would tie up. Taylor might be the better technical fighter, but the size difference might prove to be something she cannot overcome with pure skill alone.

Not only is Cameron the younger fighter by five years, but she also possesses a three-inch advantage in height and reach.
