Amanda Serrano takes her trailblazing back home when she defends her unified featherweight titles against Nina Meinke in tonight's featured boxing attraction at the Coleseo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Featherweight titlist Serrano aims to make a big splash in her homecoming, with Meinke being given little chance to upset the aging champion.

Boxing odds have Serrano as a -4,000 favorite while Meinke is a +1,200 underdog.

Here are my free picks for Serrano vs. Meinke from Puerto Rico on Saturday, March 2.

Amanda Serrano vs Nina Meinke boxing prediction and best bet

Prediction: Serrano moneyline (-4,000)

As Serrano takes a trip back to her native Puerto Rico, she’ll have a soft-touch opponent. Meinke isn’t a bad fighter, but she’s well out of Serrano’s league and doesn’t possess the qualities, such as size or speed, to trouble her. Even though Serrano may be closer to the end of her prime, she’s practically untouchable at featherweight and remains one of the best-skilled fighters pound-for-pound.

Meinke once competed at lightweight, where she suffered a TKO loss to Katie Taylor in 2017, only to move down in weight one year later and has remained there since. She’s mostly on the European circuit and hasn’t done much to break from the pack. Meinke is coming off a loss to Sara Mahfoudin in April 2022.

It will take a rapid degradation of Serrano’s skills to pull this off. She’s rusty, has lost to the best fighters she’s faced, and is fighting outside of Europe for the second time in her career.

I expect Serrano to deliver a satisfying performance to her hometown fans, and I wouldn’t expect anything less but a dominant win.

Prediction: Serrano moneyline (-4,000 at Bet99)

Best Bet: Over 10.5 rounds (-105)

Serrano comes into this fight with every major advantage in her favor. She’s stronger, faster, better skilled, and still fights at a championship level. She hasn’t had a stoppage win in a long time, with her last six fights going the distance.

Perhaps the 35-year-old Serrano’s lack of firepower is a sign she is on the back nine of a long career, or she’s taking a more cerebral route to keep herself busy in the ring. Meinke does seem the kind of opponent that Serrano should knock out, though I’m hesitant to commit to a stoppage.

This should be more in line with Serrano’s recent fights where she’ll outclass her opponent, but not go out of her way to deliver a stoppage. Without ruling out a stoppage, I’m going with the best bet of the fight going over 10.5 rounds.

Prediction: Over 10.5 rounds (-105 at Bet99)

Amanda Serrano vs Nina Meinke betting preview

Amanda Serrano continues her run at the top of the featherweight division and advocates for equality for her fellow female fighters. The 35-year-old Puerto Rican puncher is one of the most decorated fighters in the sport, having won titles in seven different divisions.

Nina Meinke is a European standout and former regional titleholder. She hasn’t been active since her 2022 loss to Mahfoud. This will be her second time fighting for a recognized world title.

This will be the second women’s boxing match that will be contested with three-minute rounds. Serrano’s most recent fight with Danila Ramos was the first.
