Group H is a top-heavy battleground headlined by heavy favorites Spain and a relentless Uruguay squad. With both powerhouses expected to command steep moneylines, bettors looking to make World Cup picks should target alternative markets such as multi-goal margins, Asian handicaps, or group straight forecasts.
The remaining spots feature tactical underdogs Saudi Arabia and debutants Cabo Verde, both known for disciplined defensive structures. Expect low-scoring affairs when they clash, making early-tournament Unders and clean-sheet props prime targets in the World Cup odds.

Spain vs Cape Verde prediction
12 p.m. ET, FOX
Outside of Portugal, there’s not another nation with a midfield comparable to La Roja’s central unit. Anchored by Rodri and Pedri, Spain prefers to pass teams into submission, averaging 669.7 accurate passes per match during UEFA World Cup qualification.
They also led all nations with 9.7 shots on target per match at the offensive end, while conceding just 2.4 xG in total at the other end. Given the wide gulf in talent, this sets up for a match where Cape Verde concedes multiple goals while struggling to find one of their own.
Look for Cape Verde to be held without a goal, while Spain should be able to name their own score. This is my best pick of the match, playable to -125 odds.

Uruguay vs Saudi Arabia prediction
6 p.m. ET, FS1
Uruguay will win the game in midfield. Their predicted starting trio - Rodrigo Bentancur (Tottenham Hotspur), Manuel Ugarte (Manchester United), and Federico Valverde (Real Madrid) - will dominate the ball and have the power and drive to launch attacks.
Saudi Arabia will play on the counter-attack. Whether they can do so effectively is open to question: as a right-wing-back, Saud Abdulhamid was outstanding on the break for French Ligue 1 runners-up Lens this season, but he will be compelled to focus on defensive duties as a conventional right-back in Saudi Arabia’s 4-2-3-1.
Such tactical disjointedness may weaken the dog’s chances under manager Georgios Donis, who is still getting to know his players after being appointed just two months ago.
Bielsa will insist Uruguay chase a big rather than a narrow win. I’m backing his team to triumph by a couple of goals, and would play it up to +115.
