Caitlin Clark sat out the Fever’s first tilt with the Wings due to a groin injury, but she’s back in action today, and WNBA fans will get to see last year’s Rookie of the Year face off against this year’s overwhelming favorite, Paige Bueckers.

The Dallas Wings are just 9-12 ATS this season, but the team has started to find its rhythm over the last month and played more competitive basketball. In the previous 10 games, Dallas has covered the spread six times. In that span, the Wings covered in their only game as double-digit dogs.
The Indiana Fever is slightly better ATS this season at 11-10, but the Fever have covered in just five of their last 10. Dallas is 2-3 ATS across its last five road games, while Indiana is 2-3 ATS across its last five at home. The Fever have covered in three of the last five head-to-head matchups with the Wings.
Over the last 10, Dallas’ offensive and defensive ratings have improved, while Indiana’s defensive rating has slipped. The Fever’s play has been up and down, with blowout wins over the Lynx and Dream mixed in with a blowout loss to the Valkyries and two losses to the lowly Los Angeles Sparks.
The Wings have been too competitive to let this one get out of control, and I expect Paige Bueckers to shine on the brightest stage in her first matchup with Caitlin Clark. I’ll take Dallas to cover the double-digit spread on the road.

My analysis
Caitlin Clark has struggled on offense this season compared to her rookie campaign, and injuries have likely played a part in her inefficient shooting as of late. In four games before missing time due to a groin injury, Clark averaged just 14 points on 32.2% shooting.
In two games since returning, she’s scored a total of 22 points on just 9-of-29 shooting. The scoring hasn’t been great, but in her last two games, Clark has dished six and nine assists, respectively.
I’m not interested in targeting Clark’s scoring line, which is set at 17.5. Instead, I’ll bank on her getting teammates involved. Clark has handed out at least nine assists in eight of 11 contests this season, and Dallas has allowed the most assists per game, making this a highly favorable matchup.
Paige Bueckers pick: Wind Beneath her Wings
My best bet
Paige Bueckers Over 16.5 points (-120 at bet365)
This scoring line is set advantageously low, so I’m jumping on the Over. The top pick in the 2025 draft is averaging 18.1 points per game, and she’s scored at least 17 in nine of 16 appearances to kick off Paige Bueckers' WNBA career.
Bueckers has reached that scoring mark in six of her last eight overall. Despite shooting just 5-of-20 from the field in her last game out, volume and eight attempts from the charity stripe got her to exactly 17 points.
Bueckers dropped 27 points in her first tilt with Indiana as Clark watched from the sideline. The last time Bueckers faced Clark, Clark’s Hawkeyes defeated her Huskies 71-69 to advance to the National Championship.
Bueckers should be highly motivated to come out firing against a fellow superstar and No. 1 pick, especially with their history in college.
