The surging New York Liberty, off to their first 6-0 start in franchise history, look to make it seven straight when they host the Connecticut Sun.

The Sun are tied for the fewest wins in the league even after picking up their first.

Our Sun vs Liberty predictions and WNBA picks have the home team taking care of business on Sunday, June 1.

Sun vs Liberty predictions

My Sun vs Liberty best bet: Liberty -18.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

The New York Liberty are coming off a Friday thrashing of the Washington Mystics, downing them 85-63 for its sixth straight win out of the gate, and their fourth by double digits.

The defending champs show no signs of hangover, and they’ve been dominant on both sides of the ball.

On offense, they rank first in scoring at 90.5 points per game, and in field-goal shooting at a crisp 46.7%.

No one shares it better, either, as the Liberty lead the association in assists at 23.5 per contest.

Defensively, their 74.5 points per game allowed is also best in show as they're holding opponents to a rough 36.4% shooting.

The Liberty force 17 turnovers per contest and convert those to 19.3 per game, also tops in the league.

It’s been a tough go for the Connecticut Sun, both on and off the court.

This makeshift group under first-year coach Rachid Meziane has looked overmatched dropping five straight to start the year, including three by at least 20 points.

They did get on the board last time out, though, knocking off Indiana 85-83, a win most notable for Fever star Caitlin Clark getting injured.

Even when they were a solid franchise, New York has had the Sun’s number, with eight wins in the last 10 meetings.

Those Sun teams are a thing of the past, but this New York team is a machine that enjoys a plus-16 point differential on the year.

Sun vs Liberty same-game parlay (SGP)

Liberty -18.5

Sabrina Ionescu Over 2.5 threes

Breanna Stewart Over 5.5

While the wins have been nice, Sabrina Ionescu’s long-range shooting hasn’t been great (32% from distance).

Over the last couple of games, though, Ionescu has seemed to get dialed in. She went 4-for-11 from beyond the arc against Washington, a game after drilling 6 of 15 against Golden State.

Those mark the first two times she’s hit three or more triples in a game this season.

Connecticut is a Bottom-4 unit in 3-point defense, as teams hit at a 35.8% clip. Look for Ionescu to keep her hot shooting on an upward trajectory.

We’ll wrap up with Breanna Stewart, who's averaging just 4.7 rebounds per game on the season.

The 30-year-old forward hasn’t cracked double digits yet, and her high was in the season opener vs Las Vegas, grabbing eight boards.

She’s got a generous 5.5 rebounding total Sunday, a figure she’s topped in every other game this season.

Stewart also easily cleared this mark in three games in 2024 against an even better Connecticut team than the one she is facing this year. I like her to top that figure again.
