The Seattle Storm visit Mohegan Sun Arena seeking a season series victory over the Connecticut Sun.
Skylar Diggins is coming off her worst game of the season, but my Storm vs. Sun predictions expect her to dish and swish tonight.
Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Monday, July 28.
Storm vs Sun predictions
My Storm vs Sun best bet: Skylar Diggins Over 5.5 assists (-120 at DraftKings)
Seattle Storm Head Coach Noelle Quinn benched several starters for poor play during most of the second half of Saturday’s loss to the Washington Mystics.
One of those players was Skylar Diggins, who finished with four assists in 24 minutes during the Storm's 69-58 road loss.
I gave out Diggins' assist prop (5.5) on Saturday, and I’m going back to the well tonight, betting that she gets enough minutes to rack up six assists.
In Diggins' defense, Seattle shot 33% from the field and 24% from downtown in Saturday’s disappointment.
Those shooting numbers are below their season road average, and I expect a bounce-back night as the Connecticut Sun have the league's worst Defensive NET rating (111) and are playing on zero nights' rest.
Diggins has dished six or more dimes in 13 of her 25 games. Look for her to get her Storm teammates involved early and often, and she clears six assists tonight against a lousy Sun defense.
Storm vs Sun same-game parlay (SGP)
Diggins and Gabby Williams shot poorly in Seattle’s 69-58 loss at Washington, combining for just seven points on 3-for-17 shooting. Expect a bounce-back at home against a shaky Sun defense.
Diggins has scored 17+ points in 13 games, including 23 vs. the Sun on July 9. Meanwhile, Williams, at 32% from three but 1-of-8 since the All-Star break, should hit 2+ of her 3–5 attempts against a Sun defense allowing 35% from downtown.
