The Seattle Storm are the better team, but Chicago's strength on the boards will keep this game inside 10 points.

Seeking consistency, the Seattle Storm hit the road for a three-game trip, starting tonight in Chicago against the Sky.

Even with Seattle star Skylar Diggins expected to return to the lineup, my Storm vs Sky predictions have Chicago staying within range on home court.

Find out why in my WNBA picks for July 24.

Storm vs Sky predictions

My Storm vs Sky best bet: Sky +9.5 (-112 at FanDuel)

Personal reasons kept Skylar Diggins out of the Seattle Storm lineup in the last game, and it showed, as the Storm were crushed on their home court, 87-63, by the Dallas Wings.

She can only help a Storm lineup that has posted back-to-back victories just once over its last 10 games, alternating wins and losses in the previous six.

But even sitting as a Top 4 team in the WNBA, Seattle doesn’t overwhelm its opponents, as evidenced by its +1.7 point differential.

The Storm have only two wins by at least 10 points on the road this year, coming against lowly Connecticut and Los Angeles. The Chicago Sky aren't exactly gangbusters this season, entering tonight on a three-game losing slide, their fourth such skid in 2025.

They’re also the most turnover-prone team in the league at more than 17 per contest — not a great stat considering Seattle ranks fourth in the W at 17.3 points off turnovers on the year.

That should be enough to push Seattle to a win, but the line sits at 9.5 points, and the Storm have covered that number just once in their last five trips to Wintrust Arena.

Storm vs Sky same-game parlay (SGP)

Sky +9.5

Angel Reese Over 12.5 rebounds

Nneka Ogwumike Under 18.5 points

The rebounding standard is so high for Angel Reese that even with four straight double-doubles, it feels a little empty that her high over that stretch is 11 boards.

Before this run, she had topped her 12.5-point line six straight games. Seattle doesn’t rebound well, ranking 11th at 31.2 per game, leaving the door open for a big game on the glass for Reese.

And with Skylar Diggins likely back in the lineup, there’s a regression on the way for Nneka Ogwumike, who has dropped 22 points in back-to-back games.

She’s only gone for 20+ in three straight games once this season, and I expect Ogwumike to stay Under the 18.5 line.
