The Seattle Storm seeks an end to their three-game losing streak when they face the Las Vegas Aces tonight at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Nneka Ogwumike has dominated Las Vegas, and my Storm vs. Aces predictions expect a big scoring night from Seattle's veteran forward.
Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Friday, August 8.
Storm vs Aces predictions
My Storm vs Aces best bet: Nneka Ogwumike Over 17.5 points (-102 at FanDuel)
The Seattle Storm have owned the Las Vegas Aces this season, winning two of three, and Nneka Ogwumike’s scoring has been a driving force.
She dropped 25 points in a 90-85 victory, scored 23 in a dominant 102-82 home win in late May, but her nine points in a 75-70 home loss were likely the deciding factor.
Ogwumike is shooting 52% from the field, 37% from downtown, and has scored 18 or more points in two of three against the Aces and in four of her last six games.
With Seattle desperate for a win, expect the Storm to feed their star early and often. Vegas surrenders over 37 points in the paint and 34% from long range, giving Ogwumike prime chances to hit 18+ tonight.
Storm vs Aces same-game parlay (SGP)
Skylar Diggins has dished six or more dimes in three of her last five. She’d have had plenty more during this span, but her teammates have shot only 46% from the field in that time.
Ogwumike’s buckets should help end the Storm’s three-game losing streak, and the addition of Brittney Sykes gives Seattle additional firepower off the bench and should bolster July’s top-rated defense.
