It’s a basement battle tonight at Mohegan Sun Arena, with the Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky in a race to the bottom this year.

Connecticut’s latest losing streak has hit five games while Chicago has dropped nine of its past 10 contests, so my Sky vs. Sun predictions steer away from the moneyline and target these underwhelming offenses.

Take a closer look at this August 13 matchup with my free WNBA picks.

Sky vs Sun predictions

My Sky vs Sun best bet: Under 159.5 (-110 at bet365)

The Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun would surely love to fast-forward through the remaining games on the 2025 schedule. With just 13 combined wins, they’ve had one rough stretch after another, and you may as well flip a coin for tonight’s result given their recent form.

Instead, I’m taking the Under and counting on a rockfight between the WNBA’s two lowest-scoring squads. The Sky have been particularly dismal lately, ending up with 70 points or fewer in six of their last 10 contests, including a 49-point horror show against the Atlanta Dream last month.

With Angel Reese still sidelined by a back injury, Chicago has nailed the Under in five straight games, and there’s no reason to expect a turnaround here, even when you factor in Connecticut’s ropey defense.

The Sun have their own scoring challenges, as their 5-26 record confirms. They rank last in the league in 3-point percentage and stumbled to just 57 points on Monday against the Golden State Valkyries.

Tina Charles may return here, but the Sky can at least protect the paint, putting a spotlight on Connecticut’s lack of perimeter playmaking.

Chicago picked up a 78-66 victory when the teams squared off earlier this year – a showdown that featured a spat between Reese and Charles – and a similar total feels about right this evening.

Sky vs Sun same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 159.5

Rachel Banham 10+ points

Elizabeth Williams 7+ rebounds

While the Sky are poised for another tough offensive effort, Rachel Banham has put together some nice scoring nights over the last few weeks, with 11+ points in six of her past eight outings.

The visitors have minutes to soak up, so pencil Banham in for another double-digit points tally tonight.

There should also be a ton of rebounds up for grabs here, so look for Elizabeth Williams and Kamilla Cardoso to both be busy on the boards for Chicago.

I’m favoring this prop for Williams, who’s grabbed 46 rebounds in her five contests this month.
