Sky vs Fever Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

Oldfield's prediction: A total of 161.5 is far too high given what we’ve seen from both offenses lately.

Caitlin Clark’s season is officially over, but the Indiana Fever are still clinging to a playoff spot ahead of tonight’s clash with the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Though Indiana’s injury woes extend beyond Clark, the hosts are big favorites here, and my Sky vs. Fever predictions expect a low-scoring battle, especially with Angel Reese suspended for Chicago.

Check out my WNBA picks for Friday, September 5, with the budding rivalry missing its two main characters.

Sky vs Fever predictions

My Sky vs Fever best bet: Under 161.5 (-110 at FanDuel)

You could put together a great starting lineup from the players ruled out of this contest, from Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham for the Indiana Fever to Angel Reese and Courtney Vandersloot for the Chicago Sky.

There may still be some drama tonight, but it’s hard to look past the key playmakers missing from both squads.

That leads me to the Under, which has hit in the Sky’s past four games and in the Fever’s last three outings. It’s also 3-1 in the last four meetings between these teams.

Both offenses are capable of serving up a dud tonight, particularly the visitors, who have nothing left to play for this year. Chicago has been held to 70 points or fewer in four of its past 10 outings, and Indiana only managed 63 points at the weekend against the Golden State Valkyries.

A slower pace would be no surprise considering the shortened rotations, and the Sky are attempting the second-fewest 3-pointers per game in the league this year. All the signs point to a rock fight, and I’m riding with the Under.

Sky vs Fever same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 161.5

Aliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds

Kamilla Cardoso Over 9.5 rebounds

A low-scoring battle translates to a rebounding frenzy, and that’s where I’m focusing for my SGP.

Aliyah Boston racked up 11 boards against the Los Angeles Sparks last Friday, and she finished with 9+ rebounds eight times in August.

Kamilla Cardoso and Elizabeth Williams should have similar success cleaning the glass for the visitors, and I’m taking the Cardoso prop tonight.

The Brazilian has hauled in 10+ rebounds in three of her past six contests, and her tally is likely to climb with Reese suspended.
