WNBA Player Props & Best Bets Today for August 7: Thomas is Seeing Double

Alyssa Thomas recently became the first player in WNBA history to record back-to-back triple-doubles. While it's tempting to pick her to haul down a third, we're backing her to get a double-double instead.

While the WNBA isn’t back to a full slate tonight, we do have three games to choose from for our player prop picks.

I’m looking at Allisha Gray to continue her scoring binge for the Atlanta Dream, as well as Alyssa Thomas to keep up her historic production for the Phoenix Mercury. I’ll also consider what we can expect from Cameron Brink tonight as the Los Angeles Sparks take on the Connecticut Sun.

Let’s dive into tonight’s best prop picks in my free WNBA picks for Wednesday, August 6.

WNBA player prop bets for August 7

  • Dream Gray o18.5 points (-105)
  • Sparks Brink u10.5 PRA (-106)
  • Mercury Thomas double-double (-137)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Allisha Gray Over 18.5 points (-105 at DraftKings)

Allisha Gray is averaging 18.7 points per game, but has seen that total shoot up over her last two, when she has scored 26 and 22 points, respectively.

That’s not a statistical quirk or coincidence. Both Brittney Griner and Rhyne Howard are dealing with injuries and are listed as doubtful again for tonight’s matchup against the Chicago Sky. That leaves the Atlanta Dream highly reliant on Gray to carry the offensive load, a role she’s more than comfortable in.

Gray has shot 65.2% from the field over her last two games and will be playing a Chicago team without Angel Reese, who remains out indefinitely with a back injury. I like Gray to continue putting up points and hitting her scoring Over tonight.

Cameron Brink Under 10.5 points + rebounds + assists (-106 at FanDuel)

Cameron Brink has now played three games for the Los Angeles Sparks since returning from a torn ACL. She’s part of the rotation, but isn’t getting a lot of time, averaging 14 minutes per game.

Brink will likely remain on a minutes restriction for the time being as Los Angeles eases her back into game shape. But it’s not as though she was putting up huge numbers in her rookie campaign either. In 2024, Brink averaged a total of 14.5 points + rebounds + assists, even while getting 22 minutes of playing time a night.

Normally, a matchup against the Connecticut Sun would be a good place to predict an uptick for Brink, but restricted playing time will limit her production yet again. So far in 2025, Brink is averaging 7.6 PRA per game, and until she regularly starts playing 20+ minutes, the Under is the side we want to be on.

Alyssa Thomas double-double (-137 at BetRivers)

Alyssa Thomas became the first player in WNBA history to record back-to-back triple-doubles on Tuesday night in a blowout win over Connecticut. Now, the Phoenix Mercury forward will try to make it three in a row as she takes on the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever.

We could bet on Thomas to get another triple-double with a big payout, as some sites are offering as much as +500 on her to pull off the feat again. But Thomas only has three triple-doubles all season, and even going back-to-back isn’t enough to convince me this is the start of a trend, despite averaging 15.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game.

On the other hand, Thomas has tallied a double-double in five straight games, and there should be plenty of opportunities to fill the stat sheet, as the last game between these teams ended with 208 total points. Betting on another double-double at solid odds is the smart play.

Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
