The WNBA is back, finally. The Olympics were a blast, we all enjoyed every minute of them, but it’s time to get back to the business at hand.

With plenty of storylines for the back half of the season, going in search of WNBA player props is going to be a fun ride.

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Angel Reese Over 13.5 rebounds

+110 at FanDuel

Angel Reese was spared the Olympics. Don’t worry, her time will come. She should be a keystone piece of the U.S. in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Outside of having some fun — including a cameo on stage at Lollapalooza to start August — Reese got to rest.

That was a crucial need for rookies like her and Caitlin Clark. Thanks to Clark and Iowa, Reese’s season ended a week earlier than her superstar counterpart, yet still, Reese had about just two weeks between the end of her college career and the start of Chicago Sky training camp. Before this month off, Reese had effectively been playing nonstop since the first week of November.

For all the public uproar over Clark (and, to a much lesser extent, Reese) not making the Olympic team, the rookies were done a great service with some time off.

And now should come the reward.

Reese cleared this lofty prop in seven of her last 13 games before the WNBA’s pause. Yes, tonight she faces Olympic gold medalists Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, and Kahleah Copper, but they all just enjoyed the opposite of a break.

There may be a slight hangover for Griner, Taurasi, and Copper, a deserved one. A month of play capped by what must have been a wild party with a new piece of jewelry? That will all be to Reese’s benefit tonight.

Prop bet #2: Napheesa Collier Under 19.5 points

-125 at DraftKings

Napheesa Collier missed the last five Minnesota Lynx games before the break thanks to plantar fasciitis. There may have been some aggressive caution taken with that worry, both to protect Collier for the playoff push and to give her a strong chance at excelling in the Olympics.

She proceeded to average 23.3 minutes in six Olympic games, third most on the U.S. team. She struggled to shoot from deep, just 1-of-7, but that was not her needed role on the team. Collier was a do-everything utility knife, grabbing 6.5 rebounds from a forward position while taking 6.5 shots per game.

Her return to the Lynx lineup should look similar, in part because Minnesota should cruise tonight, favored by 8.5 points at most books.

This matchup will give the superstar a chance to ease back into full form, focusing tonight on her all-around game before worrying about her scoring just yet. That worked for her in Paris, after all.

Prop bet #3: Jonquel Jones Over 8.5 rebounds

-140 at DraftKings

Let’s keep leaning into slight fades of the stars from the Olympics. They won their gold medal just four days ago. Since then, they have partied, gone to the closing ceremonies, flown back from France, reunited with their families after two-plus weeks away, and now studied quick scouting reports for tonight’s games.

They might be top-tier athletes capable of far more than any of us, but that is still a bit of an ask.

When it comes to the New York Liberty, that means doubting Breanna Stewart just a little bit.

In the genuine Liberty rotation, Stewart ranks No. 2 by tracking down 15.2% of total rebounds. If she falls short of a few of those, it should most benefit Jonquel Jones, who leads New York by hauling in 16.8% of total rebounds.

Frankly, even if Stewart was totally fresh, this prop feels low. Jones grabbed nine or more rebounds in seven of her last nine games before the monthlong pause. This is what she does. Why doubt her now?

He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
