It’s a three-game WNBA slate tonight, highlighted by star Paige Bueckers and the upstart Dallas Wings.

Speaking of upstarts, yes, the Year 1 Portland Fire are the eighth seed, as they try to continue their early franchise success at home against Phoenix.

I’ve studied these lines and found my favorite WNBA picks and player props for Friday, June 5.

Paige Bueckers Over 19.5 points

Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers has been very good against the Los Angeles Sparks in her short career, averaging 30.3 points on 70% shooting in three meetings, including a career-high 44 in L.A. last August.

She only scored 10 points in a blowout over Seattle, where she played just 24 minutes, so she should be well-rested to light up the WNBA’s worst defense, which allows 91.8 points per game.

Carla Leite Over 4.5 assists

A first-round pick in 2024 who's been picked up in two expansion drafts already, Carla Leite is proving to be a major asset for the Portland Fire.

She leads the team in scoring and assists and is coming off seven dimes against Golden State, the same team that left her exposed in this year’s expansion draft, just a year after picking her up in their own expansion draft.

That came after a season-best 12 assists against Indiana. The Phoenix Mercury are in the bottom half of the league, surrendering 20.4 assists per game, leaving plenty of room for Leite to keep her teammates well fed.

Kamilla Cardoso Over 9.5 rebounds

Perhaps lost in the grimness of the Chicago Sky’s five-game losing streak and sluggish 3-6 start is Kamilla Cardoso's board work.

She’s pulled down 13 rebounds in back-to-back games and has four double-digit rebound games over her last six contests.

It doesn’t read right that Cardoso has yet to pull down 10 rebounds in six career games against the Connecticut Sun. They're a Bottom-4 defensive rebounding team, and Cardoso’s catching them at just the right time (the Sun are a WNBA-worst 2-9) to snag 10+ boards.
