Ten-game win streaks don’t come around too often, but the Las Vegas Aces are within touching distance of that mark as they take on the Washington Mystics in one of three WNBA contests today.

Powered by some peak A’ja Wilson performances, the Aces have surged up the standings, and we’ll also see two other contenders in action this afternoon, with the Atlanta Dream hosting the banged-up New York Liberty.

That means a busy WNBA player props market, and I’ve landed on my Top 3 WNBA picks for the August 26 action.

WNBA player prop bets for August 23

  • Liberty Jones o16.5 points (-120)
  • Aces Gray o9.5 points (-118)
  • Suns Charles o5.5 rebounds (-114)

Jonquel Jones Over 16.5 points

(-120 at DraftKings)

These are testing times for the defending champs. The New York Liberty are 5-5 in their last 10 games, with Breanna Stewart still out and Sabrina Ionescu listed as a game-time decision ahead of today’s clash with the Atlanta Dream.

But Jonquel Jones is doing her best to keep New York afloat, and I expect her efficient scoring to continue here. Jones is coming off a 25-point effort against the Chicago Sky on Thursday, where she made nine of her 16 shots, and she’s cashed the Over on this 16.5 line in four of her past five outings.

Atlanta has leaned into guard-heavy lineups, with Brittney Griner coming off the bench, and that could leave the Dream vulnerable in the paint, where Jones can be so effective.

She’s been equally happy to step out and burn teams from beyond the arc lately too. Jones made five 3-pointers earlier this week against Chicago, and she’s knocked down 2+ triples in four of her last five games. Plus, if Ionescu sits out, the Liberty will need to put the ball in Jones’ hands even more.

Chelsea Gray Over 9.5 points

(-118 at FanDuel)

As well as A’ja Wilson is playing, the Las Vegas Aces won’t go far in the playoffs without the supporting cast delivering at a high level, and Chelsea Gray has seemed willing to embrace that responsibility over the last few weeks.

After some underwhelming stat lines in July and early August, Gray has rallied with 10+ points in four of her past five contests, including 6-for-9 shooting in Thursday’s victory over the Phoenix Mercury. That’s been one of the underrated subplots in Las Vegas’ hot streak.

With Wilson forcing defenses into tough decisions in the paint, Gray should have plenty of room to operate today against the Washington Mystics, and I like her chances of finishing with double-digit field goal attempts.

Gray has breezed past this 9.5 line in all three meetings with Washington this season, and I’m counting on this afternoon’s matchup being a similar story, even though she’s still struggling from downtown.

Tina Charles Over 5.5 rebounds

(-114 at FanDuel)

There was no love lost between Tina Charles and Angel Reese when the Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky squared off earlier this season, and I expect the Sun veteran to have a little extra spring in her step for today’s rematch.

Regardless, this Over is right in Charles’ wheelhouse. She’s grabbed 6+ rebounds in six of her last eight outings, including nine boards in Tuesday’s win over the Washington Mystics, and this feels like a value prop, even if her minutes are capped around the mid 20s.

It’s no easy task to box out Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, but Charles can hold her own in the paint, and there should be plenty of misses on offer with these two teams rock bottom in the PPG rankings.

While rebounding props for Reese and Cardoso are worth a look too, I’m banking on Charles rolling back the years here and leading Connecticut on the glass.
