The week kicks off in style with three games on Monday’s WNBA slate.
The Atlanta Dream face the Connecticut Sun in the matinee. The Dallas Wings take on the Minnesota Lynx in prime time, and the Los Angeles Sparks clash with the Seattle Storm in the nightcap.
My favorite WNBA picks for Monday, September 1, target scoring props for two players facing their former teams and an assists line rather than a points line for Rookie of the Year favorite Paige Bueckers.
WNBA player prop bets for September 1
Jones o12.5 points (-114)
Bueckers o4.5 assists (-105)
Ogwumike o17.5 points (-115)
Brionna Jones Over 12.5 points
After spending the first eight years of her career with the Connecticut Sun, Brionna Jones signed with the Atlanta Dream last offseason. She’s averaging 12.9 points per game with her new team, and she’s scored at least 13 points in 24 of 39 appearances.
Over her last seven, Jones has averaged 13.9 points and hit the Over five times, including three straight. The Sun have allowed the fourth-most points this season, and Jones should have no problem staying hot against her former team at home.

Paige Bueckers Over 4.5 assists
Since erupting for 44 points, Paige Bueckers has appeared in three of the Dallas Wings’ last four games and scored 36 points on 12 of 34 shooting. Despite the dip in scoring, she’s averaged 6.3 dimes and hit the Over on this modest assists line twice.
Bueckers is averaging 5.4 assists per game, including 5.8 on the road compared to 4.8 at home. She’s handed out at least five assists in 18 of 32 games overall and 11 of 18 on the road. She’s dished five or more assists in two straight and four of her last seven, and I expect her to easily clear this line, especially if her shot isn’t falling.

Nneka Ogwumike Over 17.5 points
Ten-time All-Star Nneka Ogwumike is averaging 20.5 points per game at home compared to just 16.2 on the road this season. She’s scored at least 18 points in just 19 of 41 games, but that includes 11 of 19 at home.
The Seattle Storm star finished with at least 18 points in two of three against the Los Angeles Sparks this season while averaging 26 points. The Sparks have allowed the most points per game this season, and they’ll be playing the second night of a back-to-back after a narrow win over the Washington Mystics on Sunday.
Expect Ogwumike to dominate against her former team.
