Breanna Stewart makes her long-awaited return for the New York Liberty tonight, and it might be just in time to save the defending champs’ season.

But that’s not the only big storyline for the Monday hoops action, and my WNBA player props also dig into the Las Vegas Aces’ quest for an 11th straight victory as they visit the Chicago Sky.

Let's take a closer look at the two contests with my favorite WNBA picks for Monday, August 25.

WNBA player prop bets for August 25

  • Liberty Ionescu o5.5 assists (+104)
  • Aces Wilson o10.5 rebounds (-125)
  • Sky Cardoso o13.5 points (-120)

Sabrina Ionescu Over 5.5 assists

(+104 at FanDuel)

The New York Liberty limped to 62 points in Saturday’s loss to the Atlanta Dream, with Sabrina Ionescu joining Breanna Stewart on the injury report, but both should be back tonight against the Connecticut Sun, and I’m expecting that to give the offense a major jolt.

Ionescu is coming off an 11-assist effort last week against the Minnesota Lynx, and I’m targeting her playmaking as a swing factor for the Liberty here. The Over on 5.5 dimes offers up slight plus odds, and Sabrina could be initiating even more of the offense if Natasha Cloud (GTD) is ruled out.

Of course, Stewart’s return after a 13-game absence is a boost for this pick, too, and Ionescu’s erratic numbers over the past few weeks can be attributed to her drive-and-kick style being less effective without Stewart spacing the floor.

With that duo reunited, New York should look more like the team that was scoring 85+ points while barely breaking a sweat earlier in the year.

A'ja Wilson Over 10.5 rebounds

(-125 at bet365)

There’s not much left to say about A’ja Wilson’s otherworldly production after guiding the Las Vegas Aces to 10 straight wins – so it’s a little surprising to see this rebounds O/U line sitting at 10.5.

I’ll gladly take the Over here as Wilson tries to extend her MVP form. She’s grabbed 12+ boards in each of her last three outings – and in seven of her past eight games – so it’s a no-brainer to target this prop against a Chicago Sky team that’s averaging the second-fewest PPG in the league (76.0).

Despite Chicago’s 9-27 record, don’t count on one-way traffic, especially with Angel Reese healthy again. That should steer this scoreline away from blowout territory and ensure Wilson logs 30+ minutes.

Wilson hasn’t faced the Sky this season, but she breezed past this number in three of the teams’ four meetings last year, and I’m wagering on a similar story tonight in the Windy City.

Kamilla Cardoso Over 13.5 points

(-120 at DraftKings)

With big-time frontcourt star power on show, it’s going to be a bruising battle in the paint tonight, and the Aces will need to prove they can handle the Sky's physicality. That’s no easy task, and I expect Kamilla Cardoso to walk into enough scoring opportunities to cash this Over.

Cardoso has provided an uptick in her scoring lately, averaging 17.6 PPG across her past five outings, including 22 points against the New York Liberty last week, and she continues to get buckets efficiently, with a 53% mark from the field in her second year in the WNBA.

If the Sky put Angel Reese on A’ja Wilson, there should be cross-matches for Cardoso to exploit on the offensive end against smaller defenders. Plus, Ariel Atkins is listed as a game-time decision, so there could be more shots up for grabs tonight.

Cardoso has nailed this Over in seven of her last 11 contests, and I expect her to give the Aces fits this evening.
