Friday’s WNBA slate features three games on tap, tipping off with the Los Angeles Sparks vs. the Atlanta Dream, and concluding with the New York Liberty taking on the Seattle Storm.
My favorite WNBA player props and WNBA picks for September 5 look at three favorable scoring lines for players picking up the slack for injured teammates.
WNBA player prop bets for September 5
Cardoso o14.5 pts (+100)
Howard o18.5 pts (-108)
Cloud o9.5 pts (-130)
Kamilla Cardoso Over 14.5 points
Angel Reese picked up her eighth technical foul of the season, and she’ll serve a one-game suspension on Friday. In her absence, Kamilla Cardoso should see additional playing time and scoring opportunities, making this points line quite appealing.
Cardoso has scored at least 15 points in just 15 of 36 games this season, though a third of those have come across his last six games. In that span, she’s averaged 16.5 points.
Cardoso has also hit the Over on this line in three of her last four on the road, and I expect her to take advantage of an Indiana defense that’s allowed the fourth-most points to opponents across the last 10 games.

Rhyne Howard Over 18.5 points
Allisha Gray will be out for a second straight game, and her absence leaves 18.6 points per game on the table. Rhyne Howard should be a prime beneficiary, and she’ll have no problem clearing the Over on this modest scoring line.
Howard has scored 19 or more points in just 13 of 30 games, but seven of those have come across her last 10, including four straight. In that span, Howard has averaged a healthy 18.9 points.
She scored 19 against the Sparks in her last game out, and she’ll score at least that many in Friday’s rematch.

Natasha Cloud Over 9.5 points
Natasha Cloud is averaging 10.3 points per game this season, and she’s scored 10 or more points in 21 of 38 appearances. That includes five of her last six outings. Cloud has been stellar in her own right, but she’s seen an uptick in scoring with Sabrina Ionescu sidelined.
Ionescu is questionable for Friday’s matchup against Seattle due to a toe injury that’s kept her out for three straight games. Even if she’s able to play, she won’t be at 100%, which means Cloud will be there to pick up the slack.
She finished with 10 or more points in one of two matchups with the Storm this season.
