The two best teams in the WNBA highlight the Friday three-game slate, as the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx host the Washington Mystics.

Meanwhile, the defending champs from New York visit the Dallas Wings, in the back end of a home-and-home set.

No doubt they’ll be prominent in our free WNBA picks for Friday, August 8.

WNBA player prop bets for August 8

  • Liberty Ionescu o20.5 points (-105)
  • Lynx Smith o11.5 points (-114)
  • Aces Wilson u22.5 points (-115)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Sabrina Ionescu Over 20.5 points (-105 at DraftKings)

Still no Breanna Stewart, who’s down with a knee injury, so Sabrina Ionescu slots in as the top offensive option for the New York Liberty.

In the five games with Stewie out, Ionescu had averaged 27.4 points before a nine-point dud last game in the Liberty’s 85-76 win.

But the outlier creates opportunity, as books have dropped her scoring total to a manageable 20.5 points against the Dallas Wings.

Ionescu only attempted nine shots, her lowest output in 13 games, which sets up for a nice bounce-back performance against a Dallas team that ranks in the  Bottom 3 in points allowed this season.

Alanna Smith Over 11.5 points (-114 at FanDuel)

It’s going to be two weeks of life without MVP favorite Napheesa Collier for the Minnesota Lynx, as she deals with an ankle injury.

They passed their first test with a 91-87 win over Seattle, as Courtney Williams led the team in scoring with 20.

I expect this stretch to be a combination of efforts in scoring to absorb Collier’s 23.5 points per game, and tonight is a great chance for forward Alanna Smith to step up.

She’s scored single digits in the last two, so her line is a reasonable 11.5 points.

Smith netted a season-high 26 against the Washington Mystics on June 24, so there’s a betting chance she won’t go sub-10 for a third game.

A'ja Wilson Under 22.5 points (-115 at bet365)

Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson has had her hands full against the Seattle Storm.

Her scoring line is 22.5 points, a number she has failed to reach in three games against Seattle this season, and the Las Vegas Aces are 1-2 in those meetings.

Going back to last season’s playoffs, Wilson has gone Under this number against Seattle five times in six games. We’ll stick to that trend for Friday.
