WNBA Player Props & Best Bets Today for August 1: Boston Boards Up

Aliyah Boston has delivered in the absence of Caitlin Clark and expect that to continue with her rebound prop to pop against the Dallas Wings.

The No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx can kick back and put their feet up tonight as the chasing pack get to work in a five-game Friday schedule.

Just 1.5 games separate the next four teams in the standings, and two of those contenders collide here as the Atlanta Dream host the Phoenix Mercury.

My WNBA picks dig into the action, with three must-have picks for the August 1 slate.

WNBA player prop bets for August 1

  • Fever Boston Over 8.5 rebounds (-122)
  • Valkyries Salaun Under 18.5 points & rebounds (-118)
  • Liberty Ionescu Over 20.5 points (-115)

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Aliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds (-122 at FanDuel)

The Indiana Fever are fighting on without Caitlin Clark, and that’s put a bigger burden on the shoulders of Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell. Props for both players are worth a look tonight, but I’m favoring Boston, who’s stepped up her activity on the glass over the past few weeks.

Boston has grabbed double-digit rebounds in four straight contests, including 12 boards against the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, and I like the look of the Over on a line of 8.5 here.

She’s logged 35 minutes in two of her past three outings, and there’s every reason to expect a similar workload against a Dallas Wings team that leads the league in rebounds. Stephanie White will surely lean on her presence in the paint to cut down on second-chance points for Paige Bueckers & Co.

The Wings also jack up the most field goal attempts per game (71.4), so the stage is set for a high possession count and extra chances for Boston to clean the glass.

Janelle Salaün Under 18.5 points & rebounds (-118 at FanDuel)

The Golden State Valkyries are on the second night of a back-to-back set here as they face the Chicago Sky, and that’s just one of the reasons to fade this Janelle Salaün combo prop.

Salaün had the game-winning layup yesterday against the Washington Mystics, but she was limited to nine points and four boards – and the Golden State rookie has fallen short of this 18.5 number in five of her last six outings.

While Chicago is far less imposing on the glass without Angel Reese, who won’t feature due to a back injury, Kamilla Cardoso remains a formidable presence around the rim, and only the Dallas Wings average more offensive rebounds per game than the Sky.

I’ve got my doubts about Salaün’s scoring, too. She’s finished with fewer than 10 points in each of her past three contests, and she’s also been in a slump from downtown, shooting just 8-for-39 on 3-pointers this month. This line just feels too high.

Sabrina Ionescu Over 20.5 points (-115 at DraftKings)

As long as Breanna Stewart is sidelined by a bone bruise, the Sabrina Ionescu points prop is going to have major appeal. Ionescu embraced the extra expectations against the Minnesota Lynx in midweek, pouring in 31 points on 11-for-20 shooting, and I’m counting on her to pace the New York Liberty offense again tonight.

Sabrina is averaging 26.8 PPG across her past four outings, firing up 20+ shots in three of those, and this Over feels well within reach if her 3-ball is even slightly dialed in, as it was on Wednesday while knocking down three triples.

I don’t expect the woeful Connecticut Sun defense to put up much resistance here either. The Sun have allowed 100+ points in two of their last three games, and Ionescu should feast on favorable perimeter matchups.

Sabrina hit the Over on this number in both her visits to Mohegan Sun Arena in 2024, and the minutes load should remain high, with Kennedy Burke and Nyara Sabally joining Stewart on the injury report.
