Something’s got to give as the Washington Mystics and Dallas Wings enter today’s matchup at College Park Center both riding four-game losing streaks.
While it's been a rebuilding year for both squads, our Mystics vs. Wings predictions give the edge to the home team — especially with Paige Bueckers expected to return after sitting out Friday’s loss to the Liberty.

My Mystics vs Wings best bet: Wings -3.5 (-108 at FanDuel)
The brutal reality is that there aren’t a lot of encouraging numbers for either team here — after all, they’ve combined for 40 losses this year. But the Dallas Wings are putting up more of a fight.
Despite a string of losses, the Wings are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, and 6-3 ATS in their past nine matchups against the Washington Mystics. That’s enough for me to lay this small spread this afternoon.
Dallas picked up a 79-71 victory in the teams’ last meeting, and the hosts’ up-tempo offense leads the WNBA in both field goal attempts and offensive rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, the Mystics are still making adjustments after trading do-it-all guard Brittney Sykes, the heartbeat of the team, earlier this week.
Washington’s 4-11 road record is another knock on the visitors here, and things could get worse before they get better for a Mystics squad that’s 2-7 in its last nine contests.
With the potential for both Paige Bueckers and Myisha Hines-Allen to be back on the court this afternoon, I see the Wings snapping their three-game home skid and edging closer to a double-digit win tally.
Paige Bueckers pick: Paige the playmaker
My Paige Bueckers best bet: Paige Bueckers Over 4.5 assists (-112 at FanDuel)
Bueckers’ absence left the Wings with a mountain to climb last time out against the Liberty, and it was her playmaking that Dallas missed most of all in that 88-77 loss.
The Wings finished with just 14 assists that night while shooting 40% from the field, but Bueckers will likely return today after a few extra days to deal with a back injury. That should spice up the Dallas offense, and I like the Over on 4.5 dimes for the rookie sensation here.
She’s averaging 5.4 APG this year, and there’s a nice floor for this prop, with Paige logging 4+ helpers in nine straight outings. She’s dished 6+ dimes in four of those contests.
Bueckers sliced and diced this Mystics defense on the way to a 20-9-7 stat line earlier this season, and I’m betting on her drive-and-kick game giving Washington fits again today.

Kiki Iriafen Over 7.5 rebounds
The first two legs of my SGP parlay signal a strong Dallas performance, but I’m rounding it out with a wager on Mystics rookie Kiki Iriafen, who’s looking like a key building block in Washington.
Iriafen has grabbed 8+ rebounds in nine of her last 13 contests, and she’s averaging 8.2 RPG this year. Against a physical Wings team, her paint presence will be critical for the visitors.
