My Mystics vs Wings best bet: Shakira Austin Over 14.5 points (-110 at BetMGM)
No one has been hotter on the Washington Mystics lately than Shakira Austin. So much so that the center earned WNBA's Player of the Week honors for her standout performances lately.
Throughout the team's recent resurgence, Austin has scored in double-digits in five out of the last seven games including a career-high 28 points — going 13-for-17 from the field along with 10 rebounds, three assists in last week's contest against the Atlanta Dream. A game in which she notched her first double-double of this season.
Austin has been flying high for the Mystics since joining their starting lineup, and I don't see her cooling off anytime soon. This type of production has ignited the rest of the team, with rookie Sonia Citron also finding her stride after leading the Mystics in points in two of their last three wins.
Citron also earned her first double-double of the season against who? No one other than the Dallas Wings when the Mystics rose to the occasion to squeeze out a narrow 91-88 overtime win at home.
A week later, these two teams meet again, with the Wings coming off a deflating loss against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever. Behind Austin, this Mystics team can find a way to will another road win.
Even in the absence of Brittney Sykes — who is listed as questionable tonight with a leg injury — Austin has shown that she can be the leader the Mystics need in order to keep their win streak alive and her recent showings have proved why she's more than able to hit the Over tonight on her points prop.
Paige Bueckers pick: Staying True to Her Game

Paige Bueckers Over 17.5 points (-115 at BetMGM)
The feeling of last night's loss against the Fever still stings for the Wings. Without a doubt, it's going to be a motivating factor in how Paige Bueckers performs tonight in an effort to get Dallas back in the win column — especially after allowing a feasible win slip through their fingers.
In their last meeting against Washington, Bueckers went for 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. I predict a similar stat line will be given from the rookie sensation tonight in order to keep the Wings in it early to avoid facing a large deficit to come back from, much like what transpired on June 22.
The Wings will be battle-tested, especially on the last leg of their back-to-back, but Bueckers will be able to keep them afloat against a Mystics team that has found ways to close out games.

As I previously mentioned, the Mystics and Wings went into overtime in their last contest, creating a nail-biting scenario that has me fully convinced a similar outcome will occur tonight. Sure, Washington has improved since then, but the Wings are also at home and are ready to avoid a two-game losing streak.
However, the Mystics are a tad bit more rested than the Wings are, and that, my friends, is where I see the advantage coming in for Washington.
Even if Sykes happens to play tonight, that'll give the Mystics another scoring option to overpower a Wings team still not quite in steady positioning. That's enough for me to lay the points tonight with Washington.
