The New York Liberty need to find some sort of rhythm before the playoffs start.

With just a six pack of games to go and players shuttling in and out of the lineup due to injury, they’ll try for back-to-back wins when they host the Washington Mystics.

With Washington in major desperation mode to make the postseason, my Mystics vs. Liberty predictions and WNBA picks have the visitors staying within range of that hefty point spread.

Mystics vs Liberty predictions

My Mystics vs Liberty best bet: Mystics +12.5 (-110 at bet365)

The Washington Mystics have dropped four in a row, including a tight 84-82 defeat to the Seattle Storm last game, one of the teams they are trying to catch at the bottom of the playoff picture.

They’re now three games back of both the Storm and Golden State with just six games to play, making every game a virtual must-win.

That makes it extra tough as they visit the defending champion New York Liberty, who have taken the first two matchups of this four-game season set already — part of an eight-game skid the Mystics have against New York.

But the Liberty are far from world-beaters at the moment. Star Breanna Stewart (knee) just returned from a 13-game absence, while Isabelle Harrison (knee) and Nyara Sabally (knee) are still out.

Center Jonquel Jones is back after a 12-game injury stint, and Sabrina Ionescu is healed up after missing a game with a foot injury, but Leonie Fiebich (hand) and Natasha Cloud (nose) are less than 100%.

That shuffling of bodies has resulted in New York winning just three of its last eight, and they’ve also gone just 2-8 against the spread in their last 10.

A New York win seems likely, but Washington has not lost by 12 points during this slide, and should be able to hang with the champs at the moment.

Mystics vs Liberty same-game parlay (SGP)

Mystics +12.5

Jonquel Jones Over 7.5 rebounds

Sabrina Ionescu Over 2.5 threes

Jones set her season-high for rebounds in a game against the Mystics, grabbing 18 in their May 30 game. She left in the first quarter of Game 2, playing only six minutes.

She’ll only need eight to win this prop, a number she’s hit in three of her last four games.

We’re taking a flier on Ionescu’s 3-point prop, which moves this SGP up to +800, though she’s connected on three or more triples in a game just twice in 11 August games.

However, she’s topped that mark against Washington once this year, and three times in the last five meetings with the Mystics.
