With just a handful of games left in the WNBA season, two playoff-bound teams clash at Ballhalla tonight when the Minnesota Lynx face the Golden State Valkyries.

My Lynx vs. Valkyries predictions and WNBA picks expect a competitive and low-scoring affair at Chase Center on Saturday, September 6.

Lynx vs Valkyries predictions

My Lynx vs Valkyries best bet: Valkyries +6.5 (-105 at FanDuel)

The Golden State Valkyries are the first WNBA expansion team to make the playoffs in its inaugural campaign. With just four games left in the season, the V’s have clinched a playoff berth with a 23-18 record. The Valkyries have been one of the most surprising teams in 2025, and they boast an impressive 25-15-1 ATS record.

The Valkyries have won five straight games with a 4-1 ATS record in that span. Over the last 10, Golden State has covered seven times behind strong play on both ends of the court. In that span, the V’s rank third in defensive rating at 101.4 and third in offensive rating at 110.5. The Valkyries’ 9.5 net rating is third-best in the W in that span.

Golden State’s defense has been particularly effective at home as of late. Over the last six games at Chase Center, the Valkyries sport a 98.2 net rating, tied for best in the Association. Minnesota’s 4.3 net rating on the road is considerably lower in that span.

The Minnesota Lynx have wrapped up the No. 1 seed, and with three games to play, there’s not much incentive to play hard on the road. The advantage in motivation heavily favors the home team, and I expect the Valkyries - riding high on their playoff berth - to easily cover this spread.

Lynx vs Valkyries same-game parlay (SGP)

Valkyries +6.5

Under 155

Napheesa Collier Under 22.5 points

Both the Lynx and Valkyries are among the best defensive teams in the W this season. The Lynx are 21-19-2 to the Over, while the Valkyries are 16-25 to the Under. In two head-to-head matchups, the teams hit the Over once and the Under once. With little motivation from Minnesota and a hot Valkyries defense playing at home, I’ll bet the Under here.

Defense is the name of the game, and I expect Golden State to contain MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier. Collier leads the W in points per game at 23.1, but in five games since returning from injury, she’s averaged just 20.8. In that span, Collier has hit the Over only twice, a mark she hit in one of two matchups with the Valkyries. In this low-scoring game, I’ll take the Under on Collier’s points line.
