For the second time this week, the Minnesota Lynx and Toronto Tempo take the court against each other, this time from Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto.

Minnesota is an 11.5-point betting favorite for tonight's 8 p.m. ET tip (on Prime Video), and my Lynx vs. Tempo predictions project another high-scoring game between these two, as part of our WNBA picks for Thursday, July 30.

Lynx vs Tempo prediction

Lynx vs Tempo best bet: Over 187.5 (-110)

Earlier this week, the Toronto Tempo's defense came through yet again. It got eviscerated by the Minnesota Lynx's offense and cashed its fifth Over in the Tempo's last six games - it was also Minnesota's ninth Over in its last 10.

With the Tempo's defense sitting last in the league in rating (114.1), allowing the highest rim rate (38.4%), and giving up the third-highest effective field-goal percentage (53.6%), Toronto should do its part for the Over again.

But the Tempo are also a challenging matchup for a Lynx defense that's last in the league in defensive 3-point rate (40.6%) and allows the fourth-most threes per game (9.1). Toronto is a 3-point-heavy team and hit 13 of them against Minnesota earlier this week.

However, the Over should only be in play if this game total stays below 190.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Tempo's defensive rating over their last 10 games has slipped to 120.1, by far the worst in the WNBA.

Lynx vs Tempo same-game parlay

When these two took the court on Tuesday, they combined for 193 points.

WNBA Rookie of the Year odds favorite Olivia Miles was the best player on the floor, with 24 points and eight assists while shooting 80% from three. She should power Minnesota's offense again against Toronto's bottom-tier defense.

But it wasn't just Minnesota's offense that made it a high-scoring game ... a big reason the Tempo were able to contribute to the Over hitting was Marina Mabrey.

With Brittney Sykes still out, Mabrey has jumped to third in the WNBA in usage rate (31.4%) and leads the league in made threes per game (3.3). Given the Lynx's issues with perimeter defense, Mabrey will likely take double-digit 3-point attempts against them again.

Lynx vs Tempo SGP

  • Over 187.5
  • Olivia Miles Over 25.5 points + assists
  • Marina Mabrey Over 2.5 threes
