The Minnesota Lynx have a battle on their hands when they visit the Atlanta Dream tonight at Gateway Center.
WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier is nursing a sore back, but my Lynx vs. Dream predictions expect "MVPhee" to turn up and lead Minnesota to victory.
Read on as I share my WNBA picks for Friday, June 27.
Lynx vs Dream predictions
My Lynx vs Dream best bet: Lynx moneyline (+106 at FanDuel)
WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier has missed the past 2.5 games with a bad back. She’s trending towards playing, and her return should be a welcome sight for the Minnesota Lynx.
Collier is their floor leader, leading scorer, rebounder, and reigning DPOY. She makes her teammates better, and they’ll beat the Atlanta Dream tonight with her in the lineup.
Minnesota’s edge over Atlanta is its team defense; they surrender the fewest points per game (73.6) and the fourth fewest made threes per game (7.4).
Atlanta will test this elite Minnesota perimeter defense as they attempt 30+ triples per night. The Dream make 10 of those attempts on average, but landing that many or more won’t be easy against a formidable Minnesota stop unit.
Slow the Dream outside threats, beat Atlanta. That’s how Minnesota has won five straight since 2023 over this opponent. Collier should dominate on both ends of the floor, and the Lynx beat the Dream again tonight.
Lynx vs Dream same-game parlay (SGP)
Collier is the key to a Lynx victory.
She’s scored 21+ in four of her last six. As mentioned before, Atlanta allows 38 ppg in the paint, and Collier should eat frequently tonight.
Having Collier on the floor boosts an already elite defense and creates double-teams on offense that she and Kayla McBride typically take advantage of.
McBride is coming off a 0-for-7 night from downtown, but the 40% long-range Notre Dame product has made 3+ triples in four of her previous seven.
