The Sky’s rebounding woes are music to Emily Engstler’s ears as the Portland Fire roll into Chi-Town.

The Chicago Sky have dropped six straight and 11 of their last 12 games, but they’re favored at home as they host the Portland Fire on Wednesday night from Wintrust Arena.

Chicago is one of the worst rebounding teams in the W, and my Fire vs. Sky predictions expect Emily Engstler to take advantage of a favorable matchup and a mispriced line.

Read on in my WNBA picks for a breakdown of Engstler’s rebound prop and why I expect strong performances from Sydney Taylor and Kamilla Cardoso to guide the Sky to a much-needed victory on Wednesday, June 24.

Fire vs Sky prediction

Fire vs Sky best bet: Emily Engstler Over 4.5 rebounds (-155)

Over the last eight games, Emily Engstler has averaged a team-high 6.4 rebounds, corralling 5+ boards seven times.

The Chicago Sky surrender the most rebounds per game (40.1), and they sport the lowest rebound percentage at a paltry 45.6%.

The Portland Fire are bereft of quality rebounders, but Engstler is the team leader in that category, and she’s locked into a starting gig with 23+ minutes per night.

Given her recent work on the glass and Chicago’s poor team rebounding, I price this line at -230, making it a strong value play at -155.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Sky have surrendered the two highest single-game rebound totals to opponents this season, including 49 rebounds to the Connecticut Sun in their last game out. The 54 rebounds given up to the Minnesota Lynx are the most by any team since 2022.

Fire vs Sky same-game parlay

The Sky may have found its new go-to scorer. Over the last four games, Sydney Taylor has averaged 20.5 points with a 29.4 Usage Rate - both team highs.

The Fire own the worst Defensive Rating in the W, and Taylor’s scoring line is playable up to 18.5.

Despite losing so frequently, the Sky are 4-1 ATS across their last five games, covering the spread against the top teams in the WNBA in the Dallas Wings, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream.

They can get a dub against the struggling Fire. Play up to 4.5.

Fire vs Sky SGP

  • Emily Engstler Over 4.5 rebounds
  • Sydney Taylor Over 16.5 points
  • Sky -3.5

Fire vs Sky player prop pick

Kamilla Cardoso Over 24.5 points + rebounds + assists (-105)

Kamilla Cardoso is averaging 24.2 PRA, and she’s hit the Over on this line in seven of 16 games, including each of her last two. Cardoso put up a 22/14/1 line in her first matchup with the Fire.

Portland owns the lowest defensive rebound percentage at 62.8%, and the Fire have given up 21.3 points per game to opposing centers - third-most in the league. Cardoso can take advantage of a weak interior defense, and I’ll bet this one up to 27.5.
