If the Valkyries are going to wake up the red-hot Dream, it starts with keeping Atlanta off the boards. Jason Logan likes Gabby Williams to grab rebounds with Golden State's coach asking her to crash the glass.

If the Golden State Valkyries are going to cool down the red-hot Atlanta Dream, it starts with keeping Angel Reese & Co. off the glass.

Rebounding is first and foremost on the mind of Golden State head coach Natalie Nakase.

“It’s definitely being intentional,” Nakase told reporters when asked about perimeter players crashing the boards. “But we have faced multiple teams that are big and we were able out rebound them.”

With Golden State as a 2.5-point home pup, Nakase is calling for a team effort when it comes to battling on the boards and that leads our Dream vs. Valkyries predictions to Gabby Williams.

My WNBA picks like the scrappy small forward to reach past her rebounding prop on June 24.

Dream vs Valkyries prediction

Dream vs Valkyries best bet: Gabby Williams Over 3.5 rebounds (+100)

Coach Nakase is asking for an all-out effort on the glass from her Golden State Valkyries.

That won’t be an issue for Gabby Williams, who’s snatched four or more rebounds in five of her last eight games.

Williams’ rebounding total climbed as high as 4.5 O/U in that span but is down to 3.5 after collecting one rebound in only 21 minutes in a blowout loss to Las Vegas.

However, she corralled eight rebounds in 28 minutes the game before and was averaging 4.4 rebounds in the seven outings prior.

Projections call for 4.9 boards, which should have Over 3.5 asking beyond -200.

Covers COVERS INTEL: There will be plenty of rebounding chances as the Atlanta Dream (70.8) and Valkyries (69.8) rank Top 4 in FGAs per game. That consists of plenty of lower percentage 3PAs (42% of FGAs).

Dream vs Valkyries same-game parlay

The Dream are rolling, but a trip to the West Coast for a 10 p.m. ET tip could be a nightmare, especially against the stingy defense of the Valkyries. Golden State sits ahead of Atlanta with the third-best defensive rating and has been a tough out at home in its two years of existence. The Valks are 21-12 SU at home, including 7-3 SU as hosts this season.

Dream vs Valkyries SGP

  • Valkyries +2.5
  • Gabby Williams Over 3.5 rebounds
  • Angel Reese Over 11.5 rebounds

Dream vs Valkyries player prop pick

Angel Reese Over 11.5 rebounds (-112)

As much as Golden State game plans for Angel Reese’s rebounding prowess, Atlanta’s star forward is going to get hers.

As mentioned, there will be a surplus of attempts as both teams like to push the ball and fire early into the shot clock. And with an estimated 42% of those collective FGAs being 3-pointers, there are enough potential boards to go around.

Reese recorded only nine rebounds in the win over Toronto due to foul trouble, limiting her work and tenacity. That’s helped temper her rebounding total for tonight, slimming it to the low end of 11.5 O/U.

Golden State sits 12th in opponent rebounds allowed and runs smaller in the frontcourt with 6-foot-3 Kiah Stokes as the only center and forwards Kayla Thornton and Janelle Salaun playing more perimeter roles.

Game models are bullish on Angel with her forecasts as high as 14+ boards. That should have her Over 11.5 rebounds priced beyond -260. Even my more modest projection of 12.4 should have the Over 11.5 rebounds asking around -130.
