No Caitlin Clark? No problem for the fifth-place Indiana Fever, who head to crypto.com Arena riding a five-game win streak. The Los Angeles Sparks are a healthy 6-1 across their last seven, and Kelsey Plum & Co. will look to cool off Indiana’s current heater.

My Fever vs. Sparks predictions and WNBA picks on Tuesday, August 5, expect a high-scoring shootout in LA while the aforementioned Plum continues to get buckets, and Aari McDonald makes the most of her new opportunities.

Fever vs Sparks predictions

My Fever vs Sparks best bet: Over 178.5 (-108 at DraftKings)

These two teams have been among the highest-scoring in the W all season. The Los Angeles Sparks have averaged the third-most points per game at 85.5, and the Indiana Fever rank fourth at 85.1. Over the last 10 games, buckets have been easy to come by for both squads.

In that 10-game stretch, LA ranks first in points per game at a whopping 91.8, while Indiana is close behind with 89.3. The Sparks are the most efficient team in that span, shooting 48.6% from the field, while the Fever trail slightly with a 45.7% mark.

Elite scoring options can be found across both lineups. Kelsey Plum (19.8) and Dearica Hamby (19.5) both rank in the Top 6 in scoring average over the last 10 games, while Rickea Jackson (16.1) and Azura Stevens (15.4) rank in the Top 15.

For Indiana, Kelsey Mitchell has posted 20.6 points per game across her last 10, Aaliyah Boston (14.6) has continued to shine, and Aari McDonald has picked it up significantly across her last five.

The Sparks have been the most prolific offense and also the most generous defense across their last 10, allowing 90.1 points per game to opponents. Indiana has surrendered 83.9 in that span, making this a phenomenal matchup between high-scoring teams and lackluster defenses.

Fever vs Sparks same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 178.5

Kelsey Plum 20+ points

Aari McDonald 10+ points

Plum is in the midst of the best statistical season of her career, dropping 20.3 points per game, and she’s scored at least 20 in 16 of 26 games overall.

That includes four straight and six of seven. Plum scored 20 and 21 in two matchups with the Fever this season, and given the state of LA’s defense and how well Indiana’s offense has played, she’ll need to put up some points to keep this one close.

McDonald has done a great job filling in for Caitlin Clark, averaging 12.1 points and posting at least 10 four times in her last seven (all starts).

With Clark out, McDonald’s playing time has spiked to 28.3 minutes per game, and tonight, she gets a matchup with the W’s most generous defense. Her scoring line is set at 10.5, but I’m taking it a point lower. The odds are shorter, but this pick pairs nicely with the odds on Plum’s alt scoring line
