The Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces barely got out of the opening round of the WNBA playoffs.

Now, the teams open the Best-of-5 semifinal Sunday, with a trip to the WNBA Finals on the line.

My Fever vs. Aces predictions expect a rather sluggish start from both sides.

Find out why in my WNBA picks for September 21.

Fever vs Aces predictions

My Fever vs Aces best bet: Under 163 (-110 at bet365)

Both teams come into Sunday having survived a gruelling Game 3 test.

The Las Vegas Aces needed a putback by Jackie Young with 12.4 seconds left to take the lead against the Seattle Storm and hung on with an Erica Wheeler miss for a 74-73 win.

The Indiana Fever needed to dig into their own bag of magic to upset the third-seeded Atlanta Dream.

Down by five points, the Fever closed the game on a 7-0 run, punctuated by Aliyah Boston’s go-ahead basket with 7.4 seconds left.

Even with an extra day between games, I think this one has the potential to get off to a ragged start as the teams acclimatize to the new opponent and challenge.

The Fever have shown they can compete without second-year star Caitlin Clark, powered by a defense that allowed just 75 points per game in Round 1, good for third-best in the league.

It’s a big part of why Indy went Under the total twice in three games.

The Fever seem to have been able to bring the Aces to their pace, as the Under has cashed in each of the last six head-to-head regular season matchups.

Fever vs Aces same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 163.5

A'ja Wilson Over 25.5 points

Aliyah Boston Over 8.5 rebounds

A'ja Wilson is coming off a monster 38-point effort in an elimination game and has scored at least 26 points in 10 of her last 16 games. That’s MVP-level production.

She has topped her 25.5 line against Indiana just once in three games this season, but all games were played prior to July 25, just a few days before Vegas started its dominant end-of-season run.

Kelsey Mitchell does the heavy lifting scoring, but Aliyah Boston does a ton of everything else to make the machine run smoothly.

We’re targeting her 8.5 rebounding line, as she’s recorded at least 11 rebounds in three of her last five games, including twice in the series against Atlanta.

Boston has grabbed double-digit rebounds in two of three meetings with the Aces this season.
