Howard's prediction: Virna Jandiroba stands tall in tonight's co-main event.

Virna Jandiroba narrowly missed out on the strawweight title, and to get back in line for another shot, she’ll need to get past Tabatha Ricci at UFC Fight Night.

UFC odds currently have Jandiroba listed as a -130 favorite, while Ricci is a +105 underdog.

Jandiroba should be able to lean on her grappling and superior experience to neutralize Ricci, who’s taking a big step up in competition after a highlight-reel knockout win in her last fight.

There’s a legitimate argument that Virna Jandiroba did enough to defeat Mackenzie Dern in her last fight.

Jandiroba is the more complete grappler and overall technician, and Ricci’s striking may not be as effective as her knockout win over Amanda Ribas suggests.

It’s difficult to see Ricci keeping this fight standing for three full rounds. Jandiroba excels at closing distance, and she will dictate where the fight takes place.

Jandiroba has consistently neutralized better strikers than Ricci, who isn’t on the level of opponents like Yan Xiaonan or Dern.

Although Ricci may land the more visually appealing strikes, her path to victory relies heavily on keeping the fight standing.

While Jandiroba is coming off a competitive performance at the top of the division, Ricci’s recent knockout came against an opponent on a career downturn.

Once Jandiroba secures takedowns, Ricci won't have the grappling tools necessary to get back on her feet.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Jandiroba has never lost consecutive fights since joining the UFC in 2021.
