If Round 1 of the 2025 Wimbledon tournament was an indication of things to come, then Round 2 should be filled with Wimbledon odds-defying upsets.

Our Day 3 Wimbledon picks and predictions are centered around two potential upsets and a match total bet on 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova’s match with local favorite Emma Raducanu.

Read on for my Day 3 Wimbledon best bets and free picks for Wednesday, July 2.

Wimbledon Day 3 predictions

Billy Harris moneyline (+140 at DraftKings)

Thirty-year-old journeyman Billy Harris walloped Dusan Lajovic in the opening round. He and his big serve have a good shot at repeating that performance on Wednesday against Nuno Borges.

This is the furthest Borges has gone at Wimbledon. He’s a clay-court grinder and needed four sets to get over the line against fellow clay-court grinder Francisco Cerundolo.

I expect the local crowd and Harris to frustrate Borges behind the Brits' service game, and for Harris to advance to the third round.

Raducanu vs Vondrousova Under 21.5 games (-120 at bet365)

2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova is finally healthy, and she has the game and the grass-court pedigree to take local favorite Emma Raducanu to the woodshed when they meet in Round 2.

Vondrousova will keep the ball moving with big targets, and while Raducanu is an aggressive baseliner, she doesn’t have the rally tolerance with more unforced rally-ball errors (264) than winners (193).

Vondrousova is 6-0 this season on grass, and she should roll over Raducanu.

Jordan Thompson moneyline (+130 at bet365)

Benjamin Bonzi is coming off the match win of his life, but needing five sets to dispatch Daniil Medvedev in this heat will be a tough one to recover from.

The obvious Bonzi letdown aside, Jordan Thompson has a serve he can dictate play behind. His ability to shorten the points will enable him to go toe-to-toe with the big-serving Frenchman.

It will be a battle, but Thompson is the better of the two on this surface and should get over the line.
