The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs look to continue their unlikely start to the season when they host the struggling Houston Texans on Sunday. The Chiefs have been the biggest surprise in the league, as they're off to a 6-0 start after finishing with a league-worst 2-14 mark last season. The Texans' early results have been puzzling for a different reason, with the defending AFC South champs dropping four straight following a 2-0 start.

With quarterback Matt Schaub (ankle) sidelined and T.J. Yates ineffective in a relief role last week, undrafted free agent Case Keenum will make his NFL debut for Houston. The Chiefs solved their quarterback woes by trading for Alex Smith in the offseason and he has first-year coach Andy Reid's offense running efficiently. "We just need to get a little more consistent," Reid said about the Chiefs' offense. "We're a young bunch and we have to just keep getting better all the way around. … We're going up against a good defense this week, a great challenge for us."

ABOUT THE TEXANS (2-4): Houston has allowed 72 points over the past two games, thanks in large part to four turnovers in each. The defense remains the team's strength, leading the league in total defense and passing yards. Whether the offense can provide any support is a major concern, but the run game remains potent with Arian Foster (531 yards, 1 TD) and Ben Tate (268 yards, 1 TD) both capable of putting up big numbers.

ABOUT THE CHIEFS (6-0): Kansas City's remarkable turnover can't be pinned to one thing - the Chiefs are better in every phase. The offense hasn't been flashy, but the Chiefs have scored 24 or more points in five of six games, and Kansas City leads the league in scoring defense (10.8 points) and ranks fifth in total defense. Smith is taking care of the ball and Jamaal Charles has flourished in Reid's system with 475 yards and five touchdowns on the ground and a team-high 33 receptions for 300 yards and two more TDs.

EXTRA POINTS

1. The Chiefs have not started 7-0 since winning their first nine games in 2003, and they are the first team to win its first six games after losing 14 or more the previous season.

2. Texans WR Andre Johnson averages 105.6 receiving yards and has four TDs in five career meetings with Kansas City.

3. Charles has topped 100 yards from scrimmage in every game this season.
