For the Las Vegas Raiders we’re expecting to see Geno Smith back in action and the team needs him. For Kyle Shanahan things are a little clearer. The 49ers are already suffering from an injury crisis which will force some players to perhaps play more than they otherwise would. Brock Purdy was held out of the preseason opener and the 49ers looked terrible. These are two head coaches that respect preseason football, with neither Shanahan or Carroll having a losing record. The key here is that Shanahan has a 5-2 record in the second week of preseason and has historically played his strongest sides in these contests. Don’t worry about the injuries, the 49ers should have enough to stay within 4.5 points of the Raiders.
