With targets like Williams, I imagine Simpson will be able to air it out plenty against this new secondary for the Seminoles. He also has Germie Bernard, who had 50 catches for 794 yards last season, and transfer Isaiah Horton, who had 56 catches for 616 yards last season for Miami. 

Williams played in only four games last season and averaged just 2.0 yards per carry and 13.3 yards per game. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide will have one of the best defenses in college football in terms of talent and depth.

Williams is not a huge volume guy, but he is a threat to take any pass to the house from any distance. He could just as easily get one catch for 70 yards. Either way, I like him to be able to take advantage of a brand-new defense on the FSU side playing together for the first time. 

The Crimson Tide are primed for a big year. It's Year 2 of the Kalen DeBoer era, and while he must replace the dynamic Jalen Milroe at QB, new starter Ty Simpson is a better fit for his system. And this Bama defense might be one of the best we've seen in years. Meanwhile, Florida State's roster has a lot of question marks following a 2-10 season. Lay the nearly two touchdowns with Alabama. Tail Alabama to start this season. Florida State should be better than is broadly expected; Mike Norvell knows he cannot afford back-to-back faceplants. But the Tide will surprise some people. Kalen DeBoer has a proven track record of exceeding expectations in his second seasons at coaching stops, and that should commence out of the gates this year.

If this game goes Over, it’s because Alabama put up 40+ points. That said, I would lean Under in this matchup because I believe that the Seminoles will struggle to move the ball consistently.

Remember, DeBoer took Washington to the national championship game in his second season there. Alabama, at just under two touchdowns, looks like the play here. Roll Tide.
